Dude is a great coach, maybe #1 in the country. He has that MadHatter swag, but he does it in his own way. His speeches are that of legendary status. He's a player coach, and never seems to bitch out his players when they do something wrong. He encourages them to play hard and make up for their mistake. Hell of a coach, IYAM.

He IS the best coach in the country, bar none. Saban has been surpassed.

If I had to rank head coaches, I'd say

1. Les Miles
2. Gus Malzahn
3. Nick Saban

Saban is a great evaluator, but not a great in-game coach.

I have been late to the Miles bandwagon, but there is no doubt he has outcoached Saban twice in a row now. He must have more wins vs other National champ coaches than anybody. anybody have that stat?

always liked Les Miles. he's goofy at times but seems to be a laid-back, classy coach.
other end of the spectrum is that d-bag Urban Cryer.

After the 2005 Miami game, I had a feeling that our program was gonna be in good hands. I'm not bullshitting either. Did not know what the future held, but at the time I had a hard time sensing a significant decline after Saban.

During the game I was thinking how much I'd like to have a glass of good scotch with Miles. Dude's cool.

Miles stuck with his D all night long and even ran the ball three straight times to punt and allowed his guys to do their jobs. Nick kicked long fieldgoals when he shoul have punted and called a hb pass that got picked.
