Is it possible that Bama backs its way into the NC game?

Think about it...

Let's say Bama drops to #4.

AR beats LSU
OU beats OSU
UO beats Stanford
Boise goes undefeated

I don't think beating UGA in the SECCG would be enough for LSU to get back in the top 2. IMO, you could still see a Bama v. BSU or Bama v. OU NCG. It's possible.

Possible but unlikely. If any if the Big 12 schools wins the conference with one loss, they'll edge out Bama in the computers.

if LSU wins the SEC title game they would undoubtedly go over Bama who didn't even play in the title game AND LOST to LSU, AT HOME, WITH NOWHERE NEAR THE SIGNATURE WINS LSU HAS

Who in the hell would put bama in here?

Yeah. Boise needs several schools with multiple losses.

I was thinking late in the game especially when it went to overtime that fans would be clamoring for a rematch. I have been surprised listening to the national talk shows and tv analysts that they are saying no chance of a rematch for Bama because they lost a home game. They felt the only rematch possibility would be for LSU because they could claim a road loss.

Didn't LSU have something similar happen to them in '07?

If the NCAA refuses to have a playoff and people clamor the regular season IS the playoff then look at it as if Bama just got knocked off - regardless if they are #2 or not.

I think it would be completely asinine for LSU to have to beat 8 ranked opponents; win the West Division, and win an extra game in the SECCG to play for the title...

While Bama has to do what? Beat AU left on their schedule and hope a bunch of teams lose?

bullshite! Bama is out!

Why are people acting like anyone else is going to play LSU as close as Bama did tonight? Are you flagship fools seriously sitting at home thinking you have a chance?

LSU doesn't lose another game this season. Book it. They'll beat Arky and whatever poor soul stumbles into the SECCG by double digits. You can book that too.

Hold on . . . if Arky (somehow) can beat LSU and Bama wins out, who gets the invite to the SECCG? The highest ranked team?

One thing's for sure--they won't kick their way into it.

subjectively I think part of the reason was the game was an ugly physical game - if it had been more like a 24-27 game or 35-38 game I think there would be more interest

the other big thing is the one and done with no rematch (with rare exceptions) is what makes college football special - so you have a certain number of traditionalists who will root against a rematch IMO

it is complicated

if the two teams ranked highest in teh BCS rankings are within five spots of each other the head to head result determines who wins the division

so most likely that would still be LSU - altho losing to arky would be very damaging
