Like FoxNews manages its content, why can't YouTube? It's economics 101...deliver content that advertisers want to pay for.
What am I missing?

It directly conflicts with the agreement they make whenever someone signs up. They are getting sued for this stuff and they are going to lose, bigly.

I don't have to change my algorithm to never use youtube to get news.

You think economics is why they would censor? Because no one is watching conservative content? Lol, bless your heart.

No it doesn't. At least not in these terms of service. Can you back up your claim?

They can...
But, some of these guys have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and millions of clicks

I think google is in the business of maximizing its value. Suppressing ad-worthy content runs counter to that.
Also, this video showed an example of one Indy journalist being censored. I didn't see an example of mainstream conservative news being suppressed.

So?

You are so disingenuous. Why can't you just say YouTube wants to promote a liberal agenda? Why is that so difficult for liberals to admit? You know it's not about advertisers or income. And it really isn't a big deal. To Argue otherwise just proves you are willing to lie in order to "win" an argument.

Deliberately obtuse
Blah blah blah as long as they are fricking over conservatives, right?
It does not cost them anything so why ban it?

Because unlike Fox news, youtube has a search feature.
Foxtube might not be a bad idea.

I don't care if YT promotes a liberal agenda. That's half of my point. It's their business, they can drive the content they want. I'm a small government republican who doesn't believe in government over reach.
Why don't you admit you're a fascist who wants to control all content to conform to your message.

It's the opposite of that. They don't want to promote the crazy conspiracy alt right agenda.

YouTube's very point of existing is that the creators and the advertisers never meet and can appeal to mass markets. This was never an issue until Trump won the election, which many blame on YouTubers since that platform was won by conservatives, libertarians, and classical liberals. So the WSJ wrote a hit piece on PewDiePie calling him a Nazi. They then contacted all of YouTube's sponsors that they are sponsoring Nazi content and what did they have say for themselves. Thus starting the adpocalypse.
And do you really want advertisers to be able to tell us what we can and can not watch? If you do, then you are directly advocating for Idiocracy.
And PewDiePie still needs to sue WSJ. That could bring them and NewsCorp down for such irresponsible journalism and how many people were affected by it. And PewDiePie and the other YouTubers (they'd all contribute to his legal fees) could hire a simply world class dream team if lawyers.

Because they're in the fricking club, dumbass. If you're a member of the Big 6 or go along with all of their talking points, then you're good. If you're Dave Rubin on the other hand trying to provide a large platform with people the MSM doesn't like, then you're demonetized.

Good review. DEG just learned what YouTube is this morning.

Says who?
With your logic, a terrorist organization who can manipulate its views and likes should have access to the same advertisers as a DIY YouTuber. That's just dumb.

You would if you realized it was all based on a lie or made money from YouTube. YouTube can no longer call itself a free speech platform with how they've been the past year. The almighty corporation can do what it wishes, but I get to call it out on its bullshite.
But the WSJ on the other hand doesn't get this benefit of the doubt due to the slander it out on PewDiePie to bring down YouTube. Nothing would make me happier if PewDiePie ended up owning NewsCorp and the WSJ.

The fricking Mission Statement: LINK
Specifically this part:
quote:
Freedom of Opportunity
We believe everyone should have a chance to be discovered, build a business and succeed on their own terms, and that people—not gatekeepers—decide what’s popular.
Now they're appealing to the Gatekeepers and not the people who want to build a business on the platform. There's only 3 ways you're making money through YouTube these days:
A) Be a member of the Big Six
B) Be a Leftist Hack
C) Make-Up Tutorials
That's really it. Everyone else has lost tons and tons of money. All on a lie.

Terrorist organizations issue threats of violence, which is not protected by the First Amendment. So no, not the same at all. If a YouTuber encourages his or her fans to find someone and beat them up, then yeah, that breaks the rules of the platform. Totally different.
