That's crazy. He seems like he takes every issue to the extreme and beyond.

Pretty much, and I knew this from a paper I wrote 15 years ago when he was a judge.

So legislators voted to put those words in the US Code but its not enforcable? Good to know. I wonder if I can convince the IRS that it's just proper etiquette to pay taxes but not enforcable.

Are you trolling or do you not realize the legislators pass unenforceable bullshite all the time?

It's going to be like back in the day, when Davy Crockett got to Washington, and couldn't even read.
Major upheavals happened, not because of him,but he was a warning.
He let his own ego frick him up though, and quickly let himself become establishment.
There was a play about him. The Lion Of The West.
That was when he got bought, but it wasn't long until he was right back where he started (With his original basic tools),and subsequently became one of the greatest people in American History.
I don't know why people are so afraid of failure.
It's just a new opportunity.
?

He fought for upholding Indian treaties and broke with Andrew Jackson over the issue

It cost him his political career: "You can go to hell, I'm going to Texas"

He had principle, something in short supply in DC these days

He opposed Jackson on the bank issue, was he right or wrong? It''s a damn complicated issue, that I am not smart enough to answer.
At The same time though,it is still speculated that Jackson hand picked him to go to Texas, and that he was really some kind of agent. James Bond in a coonskin hat.

if it is all true, probably the greatest operation in American Military History.

We are citizens not subjects - I personally would never do it and think the people that do it deserve to be subject to the shame of public opinion - but jailed or fined, no.

Are you ignoring a distinction between illegal and criminal?

no i'm stating the reality of unenforceable laws that have no effect (so any violation cannot, by definition, be illegal)

sodomy is still against the written laws of Louisiana. is engaging in sodomy illegal? no (well, unless you ask EBRSO)
