So, he wasn't able to help broker a peace deal as fast as he thought he could... The war was also going for years before he was inaugurated. So, a lot of water under the bridge, a lot invested on both sides, and hard feelings after years of casualties etc. So, okay. Trump was wrong about that one.
But why does that mean he wouldn't have refused to get involved with Ukraine in the first place? That would have been a much easier decision to make on the front end, rather than coming in late in the game and trying to broker a peace deal now.
