You can’t hardly find accurate/unbiased COVID-19 information anywhere

I was curious about the current mortality rate for Coronavirus, so I tried to Google search it.
Nothing but straight up bullshite and overinflated stats. Everything had an angle, only articles about what is happening in Italy and the high death rates amongst old people were what came up. It’s obvious the propaganda machine is hard at work right now.
99% of articles are overhyping the virus severely, while accurate and relevant information is being buried

Based off Johns Hopkins Coronavirus data it is 4.783%. That is based off of confirmed cases.
ETA: Not sure why people are down voting math and facts .

And you know this how? You would have to have a an accurate data set to compare it to. How do know your set is accurate if

While I can't vouch for the ultimate accuracy, the Worldometer site has been very consistent in their numbers.
My tracker (link in OP in the stickied thread at the top of the forum) has mortality info for the US based on the numbers that have been published.

Not using a double negative for sure.

I don’t know... I just know that when a bunch of people tell you different things, someone has to be lying. I can only guess these figures are over exaggerated because it fits the narrative

Ii just found some
“We aren’t even testing all of the people who are symptomatic. We are only testing the most severe cases due to limitations placed upon us” Dr Stefanski - Head of the Lafayette Parish Covid Medical Response Team
Also mention cases doubling in the area

Because the data is wrong and incomplete?

I agree, I bet it is closer to 1% but based off the data we currently have that is the mortality rate.

I've looked for a compilation of data that Louisiana reports every day but haven't come across one yet. A simple table that has the data for each day. Most of the places I've looked simply replace the report every day.

All data for all states
LA currently has a 3.779% mortality rate, based off confirmed cases.

Consider this from ground zero state Washington, where the coronavirus has been in the country the longest. Interesting.

The short answer is that is at the moment unknowable. Anyone who tells you they have that answer is lying, guessing, or stupid. Mortality rate is the % of the people who have it who've died. Right now, no one can say with any level on confidence how many people have it. So when you see a high mortality rate like in LA, it is just as likely that there are many people who have it and are fine and aren't in the denominator.

The COVID Tracking Project collects information from 50 US states, the District of Columbia, and 5 other US territories to provide the most comprehensive testing data we can collect for the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. We attempt to report positive and negative results, pending tests, and total people tested for each state or district currently reporting that data.
This link I think has the best US data because in addition to listing positive cases and deaths, it lists hospitalizations and the total number tested.

because that is complete bullshite because NOBODY knows the denominator to do the calculation

using google or bing as your search engine is like only watching CNN/MSNBC and then complaining about not getting unbiased china virus information anywhere

Doesnt matter as the denominator isnt known and an accurate one will likely never be known as most testing in the US for sure has been only people with worse cases and bad symptoms, at least in the beginning.
If your only testing the worst cases your worst outcomes will have higher numbers

It's not necessarily that. It's that one of the two variables in the equation has giant confounding variable (% of population tested) and there is no good way to get around it or correct for it mathematically, not yet at least. If you're looking for a better way to measure the deadliness, try COVID -19 mortality as a percentage of COVID-19 hospitalization. That's a much more shelf stable metric. Better still all cause respiratory mortality per 000 this year vs. the population corrected average over the last 3 years.

The media takes info from the Chinese Communist Party as the gold standard.
