They were okay. But if you ever want to see just how dumbed down western culture has become read a Harry Potter book and then read one of C. S. Forrester's Horatio Hornblower novels. Those were written for the same tweener audience 60 or so years apart.

If we'd have stamped this crap out in the 90's, we wouldn't have the problem we do today.
Black eyes and knocked out teeth also go a long way to dissuade this behavior, but can't be done over the internet.
But ignoring them, is like trying to ignore a woman that you have no interest in dating who wants to. It just makes them try harder.
So I think we both agree, that a harder measure is needed?
