On a similar note, a college friend's husband has been a college researcher for 30 years and moved 3 years ago to work at Tulane and now she is freaking out because of Doge and cuts and he is probably losing his job. GF is bitching but, my question is...after 30 years of government money and all that research... what has he actually done???
Since I have heard of nothing like "cured cancer... cured diabetes...etc" I am betting that he just keeps getting research grants (our tax dollars) and has really just lived off that for his career...

Attend any faculty awards ceremony at LSU and a lot comes into focus. Hell, just flip through the ceremony pamphlets and read the moonbat accomplishment that result in the awards.
I’m convinced there is nothing left to discover for the ordinary academic, and they’re just running through the motions for grant money.
