They are consistently devaluing their brand and degrees. The lawsuits will be the death blow and they will “re-imagine”


Merit-based education

I love the decision today, I hate race quotas, and I think she is correct.

In employment, merit is all that matters in my opinion. In college, I think a university has an obligation and should have a right to ensure kids learn from each other the things they need to leave as educated adults. The experiences a person has make up what can be learned from them.

The experiences is the diversity. Not the race.

But let’s not act like race doesn’t impact experiences to an extent. So it’s a factor regardless. Just can’t count heads and ensure certain proportions.

Take it up with SCOTUS, ma’am.

I mean are they really devaluing the degree when they're receiving record breaking applications year after year?

I don't agree with affirmative action at all but you can hardly argue that the value of Ivy League schools has gone down since the 1950s. If anything, kids are much more desperate to get in these days.

People are only desperate to get their kids into these schools because society gives the degree that value.

Maybe not from a societal perspective but if they are letting kids in based on race that cannot cut it and move to other degree programs then yes, they are devaluing the degree...

Just like most degrees have been devalued across the spectrum because "everyone goes to college"...

Which this respect is being diminished by the day. Foreigners may still think its something worth respect, but the everyday American frankly doesn't have respect for them anymore.

Their alum will eventually be ashamed of it, more than proudful, as the negative stigma of the garbage low quality mentality these schools are pushing out will catch up sooner than later. There are schools out there taking advantage of this and taking the good ones that are being rejected for the lower quality student, just because of "equity."
