It is very much different and don't pretend otherwise just because you want to piss off old men.

Gender fluid sounds like what you find using a black light.

It used to be that people worried about food, clothing and shelter.

Life has gotten so easy that we had to invent new problems for new generations to worry about.

I've been re-reading Jacob Burkhardt's (translated lectures) The Greeks and Greek Civilization.

Ancient and Classical Greeks had an ideal - "agon" - that expressed taking joy in struggle, competition, and suffering. They had no use, in terms of ideal character, of the 'easy life'.

I am afraid that the ease and comfort of modern life has denigrated all appreciation of 'the process'.

Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't.

Pretty much. Funny thing is, I can't recall that I've ever pondered if I'm anything but simply me.

I pretty much feel the same way although I think I would have used the word 'whims' instead of 'delusions'.

Some will accuse that of being narrow minded I'm sure but seriously there's only a few options, change and even change back if you don't like it but it's not something I view like a pair of shoes you can switch out on a daily basis and expect others to grasp and knowingly accept. It's one of those things that seems like it's potential for a reason to be angry at others for not knowing in advance what they couldn't possibly know.

Because it is? Unless the word "fluid" means something different to you and them. The dolphin part of my post was clearly sarcasm.

My point was that while psychologist may have a more helpful definition (maybe not), The way you described it is how it actually ends up getting worked out in the public sphere. And that's crazy.

A parent recently came to a friend of mine who works in the schools and when enrolling her children in the school announced that both of them were gender fluid so they would be using different restrooms depending on which day it was.

Basically a person can pick whatever gender is convenient for them at that time. Men's restroom line long? Boom. female.

This is a big part of it.

Also, I think that we have children developing more rapidly physiologically and much less rapidly with regards to responsibility. This leads to aimlessness and lack of purpose for people who are physiologically developed but have no responsibility in society at all. They are finding their purpose in odd places. But they're finding it.

In some cases, especially for younger folks, this kind of 'coming out' is encouraged. I've seen this shite.

Whether this is out of a gross misunderstanding, or an attempt at virtue points™, I don't know.

Good point. And as you correctly alluded to, only if the points are trademarked.
