I only know of him being a socialist, but I don't remember him stating his religious views.
( he's a non practicing Jew)

It depends on how extreme they are. I think America should be a Christian nation and I'm an atheist

There are more Christians than non-Christians in the Democratic Party.

I'd rather vote for a moral atheist as opposed to an immoral Christian. One means what he says, the other doesn't.

I don't really understand this statement? Are you saying that America was founded on Christian principles or are you implying that we should have a national religion?

We'll need a little proof of that before just taking your word for it.

I meant born again Christians, not folks who just say they're Christians but their daily actions, voting records/stance on abortion, etc., reveal otherwise.

Matthew 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Black and Hispanic voters are a yuuuuge chunk of the Democrats, and both groups are overwhelmingly Christian as well.

I don't know if white Democrats are still majority Christian.

Being a Christian or labeling oneself as a Christian has lost all meaning in this present world. Sadly, Christians for the most part are barely distinguishable from their secular counterparts.

Hopefully neither, as both are wrong.

I assumed it was common sense, but ok.

About 63% of democrats claim Christianity as their faith. 44% of Catholics, 40% of Classical Protestants and 28% of Evangelicals claim affiliation with the Democratic Party:

LINK

There are actually more democratic Catholics than republican Catholics in America. Party affiliation, statistically, has far more to do with where you grew up than it does with what religion you are. For instance, 72% of Catholics in NY vote democrat but only 25% in Texas do. Nearly 50% of evangelicals from California vote democrat but only about 10% in Mississippi do.

If the atheist's opponent was a Muslim, Communist, or Progressive, and the atheist had a record of supporting the Constitution, then I would vote for the atheist.
The problem today progressives trying to ignore the constitution.

Millions of democrats are against abortion. Polls show as much as 25% democratic voters do not support it.

Heck, lots of progressives are now concerned about the constitution and what it says about electors! They are even now concerned about Russia.

America was founded on Judeo-Christian CULTURE. That might seem like a trivial distinction but it isn't.
