...see it turn into whatever pussified, open border, socialist utopia the left is striving for?

Personally, I say bring on Great Depression 2.0.
We need the tough times to toughen and refocus our society. As a bonus, a lot of the economic migrants would head back home.

The leftist dream for the US would be a place of malaise and no place for independent thinkers. Then it would also inevitably crash.

Crash. Get it over with and let us rebuild what we once had.

Easily would rather another Great Depression. People these days don't even realize how great things are in this country.

The Great Depression brought about a plague of socialist programs that prolonged it. So a depression is not a great way to focus people's attention back on individualism and limited government interference.

One would lead to another. Doesn't matter the order.

A crash will lead to more socialism, which will eventually lead to a crash.

Somebody understands their history. Another GD is not what we need. Maybe people need to reread the Grapes of Wrath before deciding a GD would be a good thing.

A depression would be more beneficial to the nation in the long term Milluons of people would die compared to the Great Depression. The population today is more than 3 times what it was then and that result in civil war. This country will eventually end up in a civil war and it will be nothing like the last civil war.

Wow, amazing false dichotomy. Well done.

And for the record, the Great Depression gave us Keynesian economics, the source of today’s nanny-state, big government leftists. Another Great Depression would certainly spawn another call for overarching government protection and would only harm our stability over the long run.

Why would they; with the Dems playing the 'compassion' card and masses demanding the basics (which they won't have back in their Homeland)...don't think for one minute this won't affect everybody. Kiss your savings/assets good bye.

Trump is right to build the Wall, regardless of the costs. Once people are here, they aren't going back. And once they have welfare...it ain't going to be taken away (outside of your Great Depression) by any Political vote.

The Government will do what China is doing...print.

People keep saying that will happen. Im not sure. I just know the long, slow zombie walk into a coffee-coloured, multicultural, communist police state hellhole is well underway. A nightmare.

Why the fk are those the only two options??

Economy, jobs, wages are doing great, why can't we stay in that track while stopping the pussification from the left?

Only way this stops is dems coming back in power and go bat shite crazy

Bring it on - I was born during the last Great Depression -

Any purely financial crisis can be survived.

And in doing so, fundamental moral values are revealed.

Financial plenty erodes those values to the point that evil political ideologies can take hold.

Well if the above happens don't you think we would get a depression anyway?

I'll just fight for the US Constitution and let the chips fall where they may

Simple question - if you were retired or within a year or two of retirement would you be excited about seeing your financial portfolio go belly up? I don't think age and name assignments should shoulder any of the blame for the problem. If you were my son would you really want me and mom to come live with you indefinitely because all our retirement investments disappeared overnight. The government sure as hell won't be able to take care of us so you're elected. Surely you just wouldn't turn us out into the streets.

This is so damn true but I don’t believe another GD would sort this out due to the socialist agenda.

The socialist dystopia coming to fruition would be 100x worse than another Great Depression

It’s a complicated deal for sure. I dont blame anyone for wanting a good, enjoyable retirement. I just know that not rocking the boat has made things 100 times worse and something has to give at sone point. And it looks like the milennial generation, will bear the brunt of it, largely because of boomers who’ve run the country for the better part of 30 years. Milennials basically have little to no expectation to retire. They are paying into a system that probably wont exist when they hit retirement age. The situation is bleak. Boomers were born into more prosperity than any generation in history and managed to squander it and saddle future generations with unimaginable debt. This all while so much vitriol is spewed at milennials. Who definitely have their faults please dont get me wrong there, I would just like to see a little more self reflection if some in the boomer generation. Maybe a fair number of boomers are a little bit selfish? Its hard to lump entire generations together like that, but people talk about tgings in terms of generations so...
