I bet the trash collection fee didn't get cut in half. Probably doubled.

Burn barrels need a couple of holes near the base to let air in and a lid that can be laid on top to control sparks.
Yes, we had one when I was a child and it worked just fine for small kitchen trash (because we didn't have a compost pile, too many critters on the far edge of town).

My hometown of Pensacola went from Bi-weekly pickup to once a week and we are pissed.

In August, garbage simply can't sit that long.

I cannot imagine 2 weeks.

Ours are 96 gallons and still too small.
