With a lot of Louisiana’s Politicians Headed to Paris, Who is in charge?

I posted this in another thread, but the discussion should be had and maybe even a blurb in the Advocate.
With number of politicians headed to Paris to promote Louisiana, in case of an emergency who are our acting governor and mayor of New Orleans.
Since the France trip is about promoting tourism to Louisiana, I would assume that the Lt. Governor is also in France.
Would Secretary of State Nancy Landry be acting governor while both are “out of the country” for more than 72 hours or whatever the law specifies or does it fall to the House speaker in the Legislature.
In NOLA, I would assume the city administrator or council chair would take the acting mayor title.

It is not about the size and scope of government. It is more about a civics lesson when things like this happen. I know we don’t live in the days before telephones and other technology that keeps everyone connected now.
There are state laws about travel that dictate when a chief executive is out of their jurisdiction for more than a specified time that they cede their power temporarily to next person in the chain of command in case of an emergency.
Sometimes they do this publicly or they try to hide it. I can recall one parish president hauling arse out of the state despite an impending snow storm just to rub elbows in DC for the Washington Mardi Gras. He waited until after the snow storm to inform the parish council chair that he is the acting parish president until his return.

The Alligator hunters will be in charge of the state for this weekend.

It’s me, but I’m not working this weekend either. I’ll try and keep the lights on if I have to.

We’re better off without them.

Can't you just be thankful that they aren't in town and passing new laws.

I mean who's in charge when they are here?

If tweet fails to load, click here. I'm sure they are consulting with the French on how to quell riots right now.
