If so, how do you think he gets there?

Looking at his platform and I don't see how we don't continue the annual increase in deficit/debt.

So much of that will depend on Congress. Also remember, Trump isn't a libertarian. I think we can at least get a spending freeze at current levels, no cuts, but any preplanned prescheduled increases, for this or that, get sliced out. Even that would be monumental considering how the budgets have worked the last 25 years.

It will take him some time to clean up Biden’s mess.

You've said this a hundred times in other threads. Did you really have to start a new one?

That can't fix this mess

Let me put it another way, IF you could grow the economy enough to get a balanced budget, the post-Covid inflation would look miniscule.

The 2022 deficit was $1.4T. Per Hauser's law, do you know how much our GDP would have to grow just to make that up?

It’s a valid question, but it’s weird that you never ask these questions of democrats. It’s almost like you’re a democrat. It’s so weird.

We won’t see another surplus or balanced budget in our lifetimes.

I would be excited to see government downsized and taxes lowered.

Rhetorical questions to get the board riled up lol

Obvious answer…… No, especially with the Uniparty firmly in place

Neither he nor Vance mentioned the national debt once, I believe. They don't care. And neither does the base. Let the millennial and zoomer generations deal with the impending servitude.

We can base this off 2019.

quote:

The federal budget deficit for the 2019 fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2019, was $984.4 billion, which was a 26.4% increase from the previous year. This was the largest deficit since 2012

Stick to legal expertise.

If production drives growth, there is deflationary pressure on currency

Why? We know they won't, which is why I don't vote for them.

What's the point of discussing something we all know?

No shot. You have to 10x the economy to tax yourself out of this mess. Only way to chip away at it is to grow the economy while chiseling away at the size of the federal government.

JD Vance and his wife have both forgotten more about law than SFP will ever know.

Who cares? The democrats have never cared about deficits or the national debt. The GOP base once cared (tea party, etc.) but doesn't care any more. Or lazily just points to Ukraine and muh uniparty.

We're discussing adding about $7T to our GDP in 4 years. You're claiming that won't lead to inflation (assuming no major population growth)?

Nope.
But, a decrease of debt/gdp ratio.
This can be done via economic growth.
