Snow Mexico can go to hell.

We need to liberate Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, NT and the northeast tip of B.C. and establish a contiguous land route to Alaska. Those poor people don't deserve the pinko government that has been foisted upon them.

I hope they never return to Florida. They’re horrible people who can’t drive worth a shite. We don’t want or need them.

The Arctic circle is a critically and strategically important region and the USA isn’t getting help from the worthless Canadians because they’d rather rape our country in one-sided trade deals and have massive social welfare programs. Why American leftists like yourself make excuses for Canadian freeloading, I’ll never understand. I can only assume it’s because you hate our country.

They’ll continue being one of our closest allies and the political BS is transitory.

Who was the last president to negotiate a trade agreement with the Canadians? Why wasn't this supposed disparity addressed then?

Secondly, this post is a complete non-sequitur to my own post, which was about the nonsensical take that some world power could conquer Canada.

Nobody’s reading all that. I just landed in Nola five mins ago from a work trip in QC. The biggest issue I heard about them not liking trump was that they can’t get American whiskey at the moment.

And Trump is renegotiating that trade deal. What’s your point?

Nah, apparently you don't know that Trump was the last president to negotiate a trade agreement with Canada. Why he didn't address those disparities at that time is anyone's guess. Sad!

All of them did not hesitate to say they hate Trump, with several of them using the "Elbows Up" saying towards the U.S. and advising they will not vacation in the U.S. or buy any U.S. products if possible.

I was waiting to be seated at a place in Bar Harbor Maine recently and a woman had on a red hat with white writing at first glance it looked like a Trump hat but actually said Canada is not for sale. Started talking to the lady and asked her about the cap. She said that she could not stand the arrogance of Trump and would not be surprised if he tried to buy parts of Canada. I told her that if the US really wanted parts of Canada we would not have to buy it we would do just like France and Britain did and just take it. She said good luck with that approach and turned around and didn’t speak to me again.

I don't know why people think this, but there isn't a world power that could currently conquer Canada. The limitations are geographic. The only power that could is the US. There was an idiotic thread from a few weeks ago where someone else asserted this, but the notion that China or Russia can even execute such a thing is so remote that they rightly discount it.

Historically, the Canadians have had more antagonism from the US than any other party.

Russia I agree with, they can't even take Ukraine so Canada would be out of the question, unless they have help. China though, if they really wanted to, I think could do it. Now I'm not going to pretend to even remotely know much about the Chinese military and specifically the Chinese navy. Buf if China had a decent navy, without U.S. support, Canada would be no match.

The irony is, from the knowledge, it's their own government doing this. The liquor stores, which from what I know, are either all or almost all government owned. And they simply aren't allowing the liquor stores to stock any alcohol from America.

Now did they blame their government for this? Or in their eyes was it Trump's fault?

Is that it? Trump only needs to restrict the freedom of movement for Americans.

You do realize, by your definition, restrictions on freedom of movement is already a thing right? I mean you do know of that country right near Florida called Cuba right? With the exception of some group tours for a short time during Obama, you aren't getting to Cuba.

Go to the airport and try to get a flight to Russia, Belarus, Yemen, North Korea or a multitude of countries in the Middle East and tell me how far you get.

Americans would still be able to travel, just not to Canada. And if Americans really wanted to, they could get around it, but they would have to fly to Europe, Mexico or the Caribbean and then fly to Canada. And if something were to happen in Canada while they are visiting, they'll have no consular support and would be out of luck.

So Americans, in theory, could still get there. Just like they can, in theory, get to Cuba. But I'm pretty sure 99% of Americans won't go through the hoops to do it.

And it wouldn't be permanent, just long enough to bring Canada to it's knees. Then Trump would be in an even better position for dictating terms and a deal that is more advantageous to the U.S.

There is no constitutional right to go directly to Canada. Restriction of movement, based off your term, has been a tool used by the U.S. for a long time and is well established. Considering that the Canada government is going towards communism and marxism, and in several ways is now actively hostile towards the U.S., I think a travel ban from Trump would be justified.

They really can't. The scale of that operation would exceed anything the Chinese military has ever done. And generally, the Chinese have far more to worry about in their own region before they could even think about operating elsewhere.

Based on the few times I’ve been to Vancouver, I’d have though the Chinese already took it over
