How long does that normally take?

This law goes way too far in efforts for a total ban

I mean, it’s trying to be a total ban. I’d say it goes exactly as far as it needs to go to be a total ban

Ok, the bills law in Alabama. It will go through the court system. The Supreme Court will rule on it and that will be the law of the land for the next 100 years. I suspect that Roe V Wade will remain in effect. But we will get a current ruling and that's a good thing.

For all who've become pregnant through unfortunate means, take the morning after pill. If one doesn't want to become pregnant, take birth control pills. Make them available for anyone over fourteen my god. I am so sick and tired of this abortion battle shite! Again as I've said in other posts, there is nothing to be happy about, nothing to celebrate, nothing to be self-satisfied about abortion. Convincing oneself of the inhumanity of a fetus is a sickness in my mind. Everyone who posts yea or nay on this topic was a fetus at one time.

I'm not sure why anyone who believes life begins at conception would want to provide exceptions for certain conceptions.

In my opinion, and again it's a tough one for me, there is exceptions in all cases. I consider rape and your response to it as self defense. And I lean to abortion in the case of rape as self defense. A situation was foisted on you and it's self defense to fend it off.

Then again, the baby is innocent in the rape. So why give a green light to end that life, when many pro-abortionists would be against the death penalty in rape cases for the actual rapist?

All of the idiots on here, mouthing off about the law needing a rape/incest exception, are truly stupid and have no idea why this wasn't included in the bill.

Here, I'll educate your dumbasses. The whole reason is to get it before the Supreme Court of the United States! The argument is for "personhood", and the unborn baby has rights. If you offer an exception, you automatically negate your argument for the unborn baby being a "person".

The lawmakers that wrote the bill are not unsympathetic,Bible-thumping, Puritans. They had to write it this way to survive the court challenges that are surely to come up.

I think we all agree, that a person born from the result of rape or incest, is still a person. If you offer the exception in the law, then your argument that an unborn baby is a person, is flawed. I'm almost certain that if this law survives, and Roe is overturned, an exception will be passed for rape/incest.

So this bill gives a woman 99 years for an abortion? So if you’re raped and get an abortion you’ll serve more time than your rapist. Good job Alabama.

Black women are 8% of the population in Alabama.

80% of abortions in Alabama, are performed on black women.

Let that sink in.

How the frick you gonna prove rape? College campuses have already been plagued by women that falsely accuse men of rape. If a rape clause is added.. the false claims will increase.

I think a rape police report and a zygote inside you would be a good indicator

That'd be terrible luck for a girl who didn't want a child to get raped and knocked up by somebody else around the same time

Is that all it takes, detective? Can't imagine a terrible outcome from that standard of proof?
