JBE is actually very conservative.

No he's not.

If he was, he wouldn't be doing everything he can to raise any and all taxes he can find, put us on the hook for a medicaid expansion that this poor as shite state can't afford and is going to blow the budget up while suing the shite out of the private sector that employs hundreds of thousands of Louisianans.

This really doesn't mean anything in a state like Louisiana as it's political necessity required for both parties.

Vitter was also pro-life and pro-gun and it didn't do him any good.

If he were, there's no way he'd have been elected.

Exactly, he got elected because he lied about being a conservative blue dog democrat, not because he was progressive.

There was only one dem running; The republican vote was divided up between three or four candidates. I predict Schroeder will win.

Schroeder is a great candidate. The problem is that the treasurer election is the only one on the ballot in most places since it's a special election. Most people simply don't care enough about the Treasurer to show up at the polls on a beautiful Saturday with that being the only issue on the ballot.

On the flip side, heavily democrat New Orleans has a mayoral election on Saturday between 2 democrats, so lots and lots of democrats will be showing up at the polls for that and voting for Edwards while they're there.

It's a good combo for a democrat victory in a low turnout election.

It's why I hate special elections. Depending on the candidate, they are absolutely unpredictable, don't generate enough interest because they're not in a normal election cycle and too many variables can go wrong there.

JBE a pro-life Dem?
He said anything to get elected, and then made it known he was just "personally pro-life".
No West Point honor in that.
No one could be a Dem today and truly pro-life.

I'm conservative, and no way I vote for that a-hole Schroder. He's no conservative. That clown was one of the legislators that tried to vote himself a triple pay raise with automatic increases before he finished his first term.
