Will a lot of business that is centered in NYC, rethink their location when this is over?

The shine and allure for the young will dim...leave the city.

Will suburbs reemerge as desirable options for young people?

Not sure. Wall Street is the engine that drives NYC.If those guys pack up NYC will be in trouble.

Don't see it happening.

I hope so. NYC is quickly turning back into the third world country it was before Rudy.

Income Tax, property taxes, and crime were already a problem. Maybe this is the kill shot. Then again... people aren't too bright.

There will be quite a few business models that will be rethought as part of this. It will not be simply location but the manner in which business is conducted.

Remote working will be the first, obvious one...

On the scale where 100% of growth is in the burbs? No.

I don't think you're going to see the emptying out of central cities because of this.

Possible, when they think about how living in tight quarters, and using mass transportation is dangerous.

Maybe, if they do hopefully they don’t wind up below the Mason Dixon.

Meanwhile your average suburban Costco/Walmart is probably a bigger transmitter of disease.

I suppose that's why the virus is spreading like wildfire, all over the rest of the country?

I could see a lot of banking and financial folks pack up and move south to Charlotte. This trend was already happening before the Kung flu.

Doubtful.

I suspect they may decentralize and set up satellite offices

Haitians, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Jamaicans, Guyanese, and the Liberal Glitterati of Manhattan are the primary voting block in NYC. Nothing is ever going to change in NYC. That's Deblasio's constituency. The power brokers are the Financial Institutions, and they're not going anywhere.

Many liberals work at companies in NY. I say leave them there.
