Why were Dept of Correction Officers sent to DC?

We have:
1- NG to the tune of 25k
2- actual active Military there including airborne and 10th mountain
3- Capture police
4- Police from around the nation
That's not enough? You need some prison guards too?

They just need as many LEO on hand as possible. They've got a lot of people to arrest. The military won't actually be the ones making the arrests outside the 2,000 deputized Marshals.

They're scared and want people to know that they're in control. They never believed a day like the 6th could ever materialize because people for the most part are just living their lives.

How long have you lived on earth? Prisons have never been locked down for a Presidential swearing in, so that their special ops rioting guys could go to DC and protect said President.
