Trump understands history.
Of the Conquistadors? The plundering of 17th-18th century East India Company? The Roman and Babylonian empires? The Rothschild-Rockefeller Robber Barons principles?
That he does.

let’s buy it and China and Russia will never try to take ANY part of Greenland.
China and Russia have their own sphere of influence to focus on. They are ZERO thread to Greenland.
The Uberlords will allow the corporate merger of Greenland and USA Inc. They'll frame the transaction as "generous terms" just like any other surrender or purchase of goods.

Please, the Russians have more than enough frozen wasteland and the Chicoms ain't coming.
Even if they were to attempt getting there via the NW route via the Bering Strait.....we control the Bering Strait and the most direct passage. They certainly are not sailing around the world past South Africa and up the entire Atlantic for a frozen waste land.
Chinese don't do really stupid and low payoff things.
Russia has a still undeveloped Siberia while China already has Rare Earth mineral wealth plus it is already embedded within Africa to extract what it wants.

The US purchased Russia for some of the same reasons it is looking at Greenland, resources and protection.
In 1867 the still undeveloped, territorial "United States" wasn't close to needing to focus on Alaska as a buffer for "protection" or for potential resources and riches. Somebody seemed to have the planned sequence of US annexed territories far in advance.
"Manifest Destiny" was just a phrase for "We'll take what we want...by force if necessary...becsaue 'might-makes-right'." Just like now. The British East/West India Companies perfected "I claim your land OURS!!" by taking Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, the US (from the Dutch) etc. etc.

Speaking of attempts to look smart...

Extracting the rare earth minerals there isn’t economically feasible
You can’t be serious? That’s why we already extract natural resin some of the most inhospitable places on earth like the North slope right?

NATO isn’t long for this world. Europe has allowed itself to be invaded, even welcomed it, and will not be a western civilization much longer.

This is an asinine comment on several fronts.

You can't purchase something if the owner does not want to sell it. Simple.
