You’d know that if you deployed to an actual combat zone

The entire civilian (non-military) federal payroll is roughly $300 billion per year, which is less than 5 percent of all government spending...

I know quite a few of them. In my experience, the overwhelming majority are harmless dorks who just got a federal job out of college because they liked the benefits and retirement package.
I work with them every single day. Literally 75% are functional retards.

Not to mention, acting like $300b is chump change. $300b is almost $1000 per capita.

Never lived in Tennessee. It’s funny how wrong you always are.

The OP’s basic argument is that it’s ok if the government is overspending if it’s only a small percentage of the budget.
That’s exactly how we got in this mess. A billion here and a billion there adds up

Yet I am FORCED to pay for people who contribute absolutely nothing.

I want to negotiate their pay, let me know when I'm allowed to do that.

Are you saying there should be no teachers, home health aides, social workers, or other workers to care for children, the disabled, and the elderly?
If there's a demand for it then why wouldn't it exist? The government is shite at everything and teachers don't even teach anymore and kids don't learn, so why do I care?
quote:
Ahh yes, the poli-board favorite....you don't see the world exactly like me ergo you are a "commie". Real big brain arguments here, bud.
You're advocating for taxpayers to be FORCED BY LAW to pay money for people to just exist. You can't even make the argument the government is good at a single thing.
quote:
So frick children, the disabled, and the elderly right? None of those people matter according to your selfish, retarded ideology.
Give me extra income and you'd empower me and many more yo provide without Hunter Biden and Nancy Pelosi sticking their fat fricking fingers in the cookie jar.
The government is not God, they suck at basically everything. Somehow you've been brainwashed to believe otherwise.
quote:
You worship at the altar of the "market" which is quite ironic since I'm willing to bet you fancy yourself a "Christian". Keep on worshipping those false idols and you can book your spot in hell alongside us heathen atheists.
You worship thr government, and you're a loser for it. A huge massive loser that wants everything while willing to sacrifice nothing.
You're brave and bold and charitable with other people's money but never your own.
You can pay these people in my place, pay double taxes next time around.

Which tax cuts, specifically are you referring to? You do realize that receipts all-time highs after the TCJA, right? Of course you weren’t aware. You have no clue what the Laffer curve is either. You’re a useful idiot repeating fake news talking points.

We have 5 operating hubs at the company I work for. I work at the smallest, and we always get work done faster, even though we’re doing the same work at each place. It’s because there’s fewer people in administrative roles to slow things down.

Your math is that of the problem.
"Its/my department is just (%) small amount. It's tiny. Meaningless it's such a huge financial machine. Why...what can that do?" No one cubicle cares about the spending of the next cubicle right? I mean who wants to start that war in your workplace. You just need your funding. Multiply that by millions of federal worker drones. All across the budget. All departments. All those seeking funding..."just a little for our vital national department" .
To be simple. It all adds up money wise. Those who reap benefits from this model are going to do what? Kill their own means of survival? No. They won't.
The American bureaucratic state rivals that of the Roman Empire. They could not stop it or reign it in.
It's the Pandora's box of civilization.
Why cut anything from one's budget large or small?
To save money.
Maybe save something more.
