I keep hearing this…it’s 1%, it’s 5%, it’s 2%, it’s 1%….

Keep adding up the 1s, 2s,5s.

You run a household yes?
How do you evaluate your budget? Only the mortgage and done.

I bet not.

It’s TAXPAYER dollars man…I don’t care what percentage! Quit wasting MY money!

We have very different ideas how to run a country with taxpayer funds.

When government thievery is reduced it means you need fewer government employees......pretty fricking simple.

In my experience, the overwhelming majority are harmless dorks who just got a federal job out of college because they liked the benefits and retirement package.

Yeah... that sounds like the exact type of person I really want paying taxes to keep employed. Real go getter that is making the country a better place. Never going to coast, suck off the teat and take advantage of the position that "we can't fire them... that would be just hurt too much".

To his credit, Trump is always evolving and keeps a fresh line-up of boogeymen. Boogeymen are a great political tool for politicians, so good for Trump!

Federal workers apparently are the new boogeyman and the reason for all of our problems, so we should probably get in line and start demonizing federal workers.

Project 2025 was pretty clear about this, why don’t you just read that? It was available for like 2 years.

It's not about the expense associated with federal employees, it's the resources the federal employees waste. When they are on their posts, they grab and waste money. Look, the fda alone has 20,000 employees at its Maryland sites.

Oh no lil Bucky is upset that people found out he supported transitioning kids without parental consent and now he’s tantruming. What a shame! Hahaha

My simple answer: It’s not how many of them there are. It’s what they have the capacity to do.

ETA:

if Trump goes too far and fires one too many federal employees and pisses one too many people off, the whole thing could backfire and the honeymoon would be over.

This is where you get told you are a leftist pussy, regardless how much you agree with the goal.

How many private companies offer life long pensions at full salary?

Federal pensions
The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) is the current retirement system for federal employees.

To qualify for a FERS pension, you must work for the federal government for at least five years.

Your benefit is based on your "high-3 average pay," which is the average of your highest basic pay over three consecutive years.

You may also be eligible for Social Security benefits.
