re: Why is ‘limited range’ for EV’s presented as ‘range anxiety’?

The EV is not the problem. The insanity of eliminating dependable power is the problem. I traveled 450 miles yesterday. Stopped for 15 minutes to get gas. Did not have to sit for two hours or more to charge. Until the technology reaches what is expected in the US, reserve your life to living on the upper eastern seaboard.

I worked in the industry. Sold more transformers for more wind and solar farms than most in the US combined. You don’t have a clue why those transformers are required. The damage done by a party that declared themselves to supreme. You don’t restrict the private sector by forming a the following of a lie.

I’m not here to talk about transformers. Will transformers be needed in a hundred years after you are dead? I suspect there will still be pavement in this country. I know. Live in the moment.

You also don’t have to sit for two hours to charge either.

I have range anxiety myself...

... I try to pee from the wife's makeup chair/station and don't quite make it often.

Her response causes me much anxiety.

If you had stayed with the EV there would be no problem.

You are too emotional to debate something you know nothing about.

I gotta worry enough about finding diesel in some big cities can’t imagine trying to find a charger or someone to let me use their electric outlet

Norway is not a small country. I can see that for normal driving activity, EVs can work.
Norway is about the size of Arizona. The areas where you have the road network, like anywhere else it can work. Btw Norway has 2 million fewer people than Arizona despite being settled for much longer.

Like Arizona there are vast swaths of Norway where you lack the power grid and road network to make it feasible.

So yes it is a mindset. The fact it can’t work for the majority of the country versus the wish it could.

So you openly admit the product was introduced with multiple flaws.

That doesn’t solve the limitations of temperature and operational range .

EVs can be a great value if your use profile fits well with where they excel. If your use profile doesn't fit that, there are going to be a somewhat problematic vehicle to own, like any other vehicle that doesn't suit your needs.

Well said.

Your words:

I didn't admit anything regarding flaws associated with an EV. As a matter of fact, my only issue with your responses is the lie related to charging time. I don't have an EV. My F150 Ecoboost gets around 650-700 miles on a tank.

Do you not think that EV technology on a whole is advancing? Not gonna get in the weeds in arguing your expertise.

You spent time on Wikipedia I see. They have to drive and charge just like we do. And how many of you drive across our country every week? That's what I thought. You drive around Baton Rouge. For those of you who drive big trucks, you're exempt. Most big trucks in Norway are diesel.

It's an attempt at an appeal to ridicule, same reason they came up with "homophobic".

Does the carbon footprint of manufacturing all the new infrastructure to allow our grid to handle this new load get added to the EV’s total, or can we just act like it doesn’t exist?

Buy or rent the fasted EV available (Lucid? Plaid).

I will buy the cheapest new ICE vehicle available.

Let’s race from Baton Rouge to Chicago.

Well, it certainly seems to make EV enthusiasts feel better by completely ignoring it.

That was my point. That anything that wasn’t short range around the cities had to be fossil fuel reliant
