Why waste his time? This is a stupid question (and if you were intellectually honest you would know the answer).

Yeah it doesn’t take much of a deep dive into OP’s post history to come to a conclusion that he is anything but open-minded when it comes to Trump, both as an individual as well as the “environment” surrounding him.

What debate?
Latin America would love to supplant China as the main trade partner of the U.S., even with a tariff. As for costing Americans 300 billion, I don’t see it.

Because you haven't read his plan. 3 trillion of US imports with a 10% tariff equals $300 billion. To spell it out for you it's a $300 billion tax raise.

Biden showed how to get the most votes in history by hiding the entire campaign. Why would anyone put themselves out there when you can hide in the bunker until Election Day?

Assuming you're right about his closed mindedness where DT is concerned, does that make his overriding point(s) wrong?

No he doesn't moron. No where does DeSantis, or any other GOP candidate, support tariffs on all US imports.

No he doesn't. No GOP candidate supports "universal baseline tariffs" except Trump. Learn what you are talking about.

Why should he? He is so far ahead of every other declared Republican, it's silly to do so.

This is simple stuff. The OP article breaks it down. I did also in this thread. The US imports about $3 trillion of goods per year. At a tariff rate of 10% that equals $300 billion. US consumers pay the tariffs.

I’m an expert in many, many areas, but just so happens that tariffing isn’t one of them. I’m rather shocked at the oversight myself.

But my question is this: I think one could reasonably presume that the specific tariffing to which you refer is (or would be if Trump is elected, as it were) in response to some other problems and potential problems and related issues. What are those problems and issues, and what is your suggested alternative approach?

This is absolutely not true. I have said more than once that I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee against Joe Biden. The irony to calling me closed minded is the abject refusal from people in this thread to answer any of the issues posed by that op-ed and the total exoneration of Trump from answering any questions at all inside the Republican primary because of fear.

The man is going to fail when he has to answer any of the questions brought up by that op-ed, and you lot want it to be in the General. At least let the debate of ideas take place in the primary where the party can legit choose its best candidate. No harm if it’s Trump, but be a man and stand on your ideas in a contest of fricking ideas.

Tariffs are a tax. Trump would be raising taxes on US consumers.

There is a reason that almost "zero" modern economists advocate the use of tariffs.

This depends on the amount of imported goods each individual US consumer purchases.
