re: Why don’t we embrace the gays?

Not to rain on your misguided parade here, but let's not act like heterosexuals haven't done the lion's share of damage to the family unit with a divorce rate of 50% and an overwhelming number of heterosexuals who choose to have kids out of wedlock.
You don't agree with two gays getting married? Fine, just say it. But don't hide it with some bs defense of the family unit when it's been devastated by the above choices of heterosexuals.

I’m always curious about why Toddy melts so hard about everything when most here support his lifestyle. He’s clearly a single issue voter but ignores that nobody cares about that issue.
Some people just need to play the victim card. Toddy doesn't speak for all gays -- certainly not for me. And yes, gays like Toddy are single issue voters who have no problem engaging in blatant hypocrisy so long as it furthers his agenda: attention.

What if we just don't care about the gays? Or straights.
I care about people, and don't give special consideration to who they have sex with.

I don't have a problem what they do in the bedroom. I'll treat a gay the same as I treat everyone else. I am a big fan of don't ask, don't tell.
Don't try to force me to celebrate the lifestyle or expect me to believe it is normal, though.
Absotively.
I put that lifestyle in the same category as people who eat their boogers. If you want to do it, go ahead, but don't get your panties in a wad if I express disgust when you do it in public.
And when you start making it a centerpiece of your who.you.are then screw you - when you start holding 'boogers eater pride' parades the screw you = when you start building TV shows around your habit, then screw you - and when you get in my face about it the screw the hell out of you.
Eat your boogers - have parties where you eat each others boogers - I don't give a shite.
EDIT - thanks Olddawg!! buggers =/= boogers.

Yep, gays getting married have nothing to do with any destruction of family. People should support committed relationships.

Or compare loving someone to eating boogers...

Most of the damage to marriage has come from governmental influences.
When I was a kid in the 40's/50s, I did not know of one person who had been divorced. I did not know one kid who didn't have two parents at home. I was in my thirties before I knew anyone who had been divorced.
There certainly must have been some divorced people in my circles, but it was something that I just had no idea about.
I knew of some girls who 'got knocked up' - and a few of them went away to 'visit their Aunt Mary" for a while and came home after (presumably) giving their child for adoption. I knew of a few guy who "had to get married" because they had 'knocked up' their girlfriend. I knew of exactly two 'loose girls' and nobody 'dated' them.
None of that lifestyle was celebrated. No TV shows were build around their moral lapses. There were no supermarket tabloids or 'Women's magazines" that extolled how to be 'good in bed.'
Guys were on their own trying to get a glimpse of a girl's legs above her ankles - and it was a thrill when you 'scored' such a view. Now a young guy has to resort to filthy porn to get that certain 'thrill.'
The concept of a normal marriage has been under assault by those who know that destruction of the family unit is the surest way to generate a morally deficient society, wandering from one depravity to another.
Celebration of homosexuality is but one prong of this attack, and it is far from the most dangerous. The more dangerous is the governmental influence on promoting a culture that relies on the government for their moral guidance rather than historically successful family guidance.

Agreed. White leftists, the worst people on earth, have done the most damage.
The current fringe groups are just showing up to finish off what's left.

I disagree with the gays being MAGA. They are the loudest sky screamers out there and have completely fallen for the talking points.
There are plenty of gays over 30 that have common sense, or middle of the road or conservative and many even MAGA. The younger ones that haven't made any money or haven't had any real world experience continue to spout the leftist BS.

The segments of America that believe in family - asians and hispanics - have the lowest divorce rates. Blacks and Native Americans have the highest - where men are often times nowhere to be found.

You have a point that the social mores have changed yes, but I disagree that gay marriage has any negative effects on straight marriage, or the family unit. I don't see a ton of happily married straight people suddenly getting a divorce and breaking up their family units so they can wed their secret gay lovers. Not saying it doesn't happen, but that number is probably very, very small.
If anything, allowing gays to marry strengthens family units. It provides two consenting adults (and possibly kids) protections and incentives to stay together. That strengthens the family unit, not damages it.

I do admit this bothers me. Not that people are gay, but the pride stuff.
For real, if you want to be treated normally, act normally.

Because of moral erosion.
They are born with a perversion. A mental illlmess.
Which sexual perversion is the place we draw the line? Pedophilia? Beastialify?
Why does one sexual perversion somehow get the moral high ground over others?

It’s an autocratic monotheistic society from the Novel that forces fertile women to breed with the elite males, kills all gay people and university professors, and removes women from the work force so they can run the family. It’s an extreme take on what people will give up for safety.

It is natural to reject humans with a flaw. It is natures way to concentrate the best DNA.
