Why don’t the dems just impeach and get it over with?

They spend all day every day talking about, they know they are going to do it, and everyone else knows they are going to do it, Just fricking do it and get it over with. It will feel so much better dems!!

They don't yet have the required support in the battleground states where Trump's popularity is trending higher than where it was in the months leading up to the election.

This is all political theater for the 2020 elections. There is too much in the balance for them to actually bring it to a vote. If the Dems do then they have pushed all their chips to the center of the table

My guess is they do it September 2020. So the Senate does not have time to clear him before the election.

Because they haven’t come up with a crime yet. They’ve been looking for one since 2016. The reason their hasn’t been a vote yet is because they’re buying time to dig up dirt.

Obviously witnesses and documents would be key to writing accurate articles of impeachment.

He isn't keeping anyone from telling truths. He's correctly holding their feet to the fire on process.
Process matters. You may well find yourself in a situation one day wherein you'll insist on it as well. Rather than the government attempting to do something to you or take something from you while cutting corners and skipping steps that would even the playing field for you.
