I agree that if he can focus on China in these last few months, he can come up looking like he did out deal them and will look like a star.

I'm not a fan of Trump's character or personality. I think he's a dipshit in many regards, weirdly insecure, etc. But he's been right about China, (other) trade deals, the Iran deal, the Paris climate accord, the border, and has done mostly well for the economy, so I'll take him over any of the idiots the Left has offered.

I agree with all that, but I’d take him over most of what the GOP has pushed lately as well, Cruz being a notable but not the only exception.

I see Donald Trump as a guy who takes an inordinate amount of abuse for doing a job that he, as a 70+ year old billionaire, didn’t really need to sign on for.

I never particularly liked him personally before he became POTUS, and truth be told, he can be kind of difficult to listen to at times. He’s really not the most polished of speakers.

That being said, these horseshite critics can eat a bag of dicks. He’s getting the job done effectively, despite being under a 24/7 barrage that most of these aforementioned critics couldn’t stand up to for 20 minutes without cracking.

I think we could all agree he is not physically strong, but I do have to admire how he doesn't give a shite about PC or succumbing to the left's war on words.

He's fighting, and taking a lot of shite, for a lot of issues that most feel strongly about. Border security, immigration, economic policies both domestic and international.

He's also willing to punch back with the media, other politicians, and outspoken movie stars/singers/etc.

It takes a strong leader to be that driven and tough to swim upstream like he's doing. Those attributes are usually associated with men.

With respect to the tweet: I'm honestly at a loss at how someone thinks that Trump is whiney, needy, scared of women and powerful men, etc.

He ran against powerful men in the primary's, and a powerful woman (the most powerful woman in America?) in the general election. When he calls CNN fake news and tells them to do actual journalism that's not whining or needy, that's just calling out their dishonesty.

I'm not going to convince anyone who is a Trump fan, but you honestly don't think that in his press conferences related to the coronavirus, he might be seen as coming across as whiney when he whines about the fake news, how reporters are so hard on him, etc.? Close to 60% of the public has a poor opinion of his response. They are going to view it as weak. Whether or not they are holding him to a different standard than the MSM.

Not saying you should disagree with his response, but to be at a loss why some might see him as the epitome of a snowflake seems as tone deaf as it would be for me to say that no one thinks Trump is getting the better of the MSM.

I haven't exactly heard anyone using the specific terms "manly" or "strong" in describing Trump (not that he isn't), but it's interesting to note that this is where that guy's head is at. Those appear to be HIS descriptors.

"Epitome of a snowflake" - not quite. But he can come across as whiney, no doubt. He can't control his emotions, or is too arrogant to think he needs to mask them sometimes.

That said, you have to admit he is confronted by a ridiculously bent media. Trump is closer to "sober evenhanded statesman" than 90% of the media is to "unbiased" or even "rational."

You are a smart dude it looks like, but I think your problem is that your intense red hot hatred of the president has clouded your vision of right and wrong. You think any action that opposes the president is inherently correct and justifiable.

I heard a saying a few months ago: trump has made both his fans and his detractors worse people. Because of his polarizing nature, he turns everybody into people with inadequate character and morality. The justifiableness of something is determined by whether it helps or hurts your side. Right and wrong, moral and immoral...they don't exist anymore. The standard is: does it hurt trump or help him?

I will give you an example of yourself. You said earlier that you don't like how trump goes after intel agencies. Have you actually read any of the meat of the IG report or the FISA judge statements? If it doesn't trouble you with what happened to carter page, then I am sorry, but you are as bad as the people who excuse away anything trump says or does.

Even David French, hardcore never-trumper, was deeply upset with some of the fbi activity surrounding the trump campaign.

Very troubling. But certainly the way he attacked our intelligence agencies and instead believed Putin early in his Presidency, and then constantly undermined them, is even more troubling. Just because the FISA stuff is bad doesn't mean I should look the other way on how he has seriously undercut our organizations. You're the guy arguing for perspective.

The intel community during the trump years has taken unprecedented action against a POTUS imo. Weaponized leaks, using russian disinfo to spy on campaign, and just a general attempt to cast a cloud over his presidency.

As trump often says "I have great respect for the rank and file of the fbi, it is the top that is scum".

The durham probe will tell us more, but it looks like the intel community seriously weaponized intelligence in a highly political manner.

I do not want to live in a country where unelected goons with enormous power undermine presidents with worldviews they don't agree with.

They would have done the same thing if sanders or ron paul was ever elected prez.

It is not right.
