What deep water usa port was sold to china? How did state dept make the call on sale? How do you sell a port, anyway? Is this some brietbart fantasy or just misleading post?

quote:Weeks to months. And that has less to do with intentional foot-dragging than natural bureaucratic inertia and the need to adjust collection, investigative, analytical, and research priorities. The three-letter boys and the military have something on the shelf for nearly every contingency, but peripheral or deemphasized issues don't have a lot of manpower put against them, and their policies and plans might be 3-5 years old or older.
1) How long do you think it would take for existing members CIA FBI etc to adjust to new policy and direction?
quote:Typically, little. The career folks who make up the vast majority of the federal govt are accustomed to a turnover in executive priorities every eight years, at most. It's always an adjustment, but there's always something from the not-too-distant past to draw upon. Most don't take most things personally.
2) How smooth do you think the transition would be, trickling down from the top brass to the rank and file? How much resistance and/or staff turnover?
But I will say that I work in the most conservative-leaning federal department (DoD) and this president just raises a lot of concerns with a lot of people--uniformed and otherwise. Obama did, too, but I was in the fleet when he was elected. Different crowd. I imagine the beltway was much more comfortable with him.
Mattis does a lot to quell the unease with this admin, but there is a lot of uncertainty right now..

Trump's enemies in the IC will make shite up if they have to. Trump needs to go scorched earth on them. Totally clean house.

Why do you believe the intelligence community has been against Trump
the entire time?
They need a Russian enemy. They want a Russian enemy. In many cases a Russian foil justifies their existence.
Trump might threaten that.

Yeah, all 750,000 went to Ivies and/or were born to Bushes, Rockefellers, and Rothschilds.
You guys are paranoid goons who watch too much TV. Trump is floundering because he doesn't know how to manage his government or hire people capable of helping him--not because of the IC.

They haven't been hell the FBI went out of the way to blow up fake scandals and the like to try and take down Hillary.
Now the foreign side is against him but presumably that's because they detest traitors and think Trump is either turned or an unknowing dupe.

this just won't happen, as they are vital to national security. imagine if a terrorist attack happens right after it starts?

To be totally honest- Manafort, Carter Page, Flynn and to a lesser extent Tillerson- the first 3 raise huge flags to a lot of people in the greater FP community not just the IC.

Tapper's using his mouth against him right now, FWIW. Maybe he should get his shite together. The whole country suffers when the president is flailing about.

I'm willing to bet these leaks are from bureaucrats and "analysts" who really don't actually contribute other than making power points and prof reading reports.
