So, you're enamored by the switching of 1,000 voters from a population of millions of voters that vote Republican?

I'd be concerned if it were the reverse. That party affiliation has nothing to do with the vote cast in the booth. There are plenty of Republicans that switched to Democrat in an attempt to make the Nominees of the Democrat Party more beatable. I'll bet those numbers on the roles are far greater than this sudden move by a few.

100% this.

My grandmother was born and raised in Georgia, Democrat her whole life. Same for my fathers side.

They were born in the early 20th Century.

Being lberal or conservative doesnt mean you are a democrat or republican.

Like i say liberals, but what i really mean is the progressive arm of the democrat party. i know not all democrats are communist pieces of shite. But they sure as hell vote for it in the name of justice or to hold some moral high ground when they are actually more morally corrupt.

Right, because the party of emancipation just decided to become racist one day.

After the civil war.. the parties were more divided than now.

So how anyone actually buys there was a party switch.. of completely bitterly rival parties.. at the same time and in full agreement is a complete mystery.

Picture current conservatives being for everything liberals clamor for and liberals also in turn taking up conservative causes... at the same time.

I can’t fathom how easy some people fall for liberal fairy tales.

A conservative democrat in 2021 is a walking contradiction...

Disclaimer: I am not a liberal, I am probably in the top 5-10% most conservative people on this website, but this has always bugged me a lot

Well William Fulbright never switched and he was Bill Clinton's mentor.
Robert Byrd never switched and he was Hillary Clinton's mentor (one of a thousand because she claimed everybody but she claimed him)
Al Gore Sr never switched and he was Al Gore' dad.

They NEVER switched and they had a direct link to leaders from the period way after the supposed switch.

I guess only peasants switched. How'd that work?

In the most recent election cycle there was a ballot initiative in California that would have allowed government to discriminate by race. Thankfully it was defeated. But the only counties in which a majority of people voted for it were all heavily Democrat. San Francisco City/County had the highest % for.

Democrats have always been, and still are, the racist party.

So the democrats went from being racist against everybody besides whites to being racist against only whites? Yeah, makes perfect sense...

Sorry but not having been on this site for 6 months yet, how can you claim you are in the top 5-10% of conservatives on this site? You haven't met Rex or BamaATL...

I am not a republican (nor a democrat), and I also do not admit that it ever happened, because I don't believe that it did. Dinesh D'Souza does a good job of explaining the myth in detail.

All liberals and conservatives are right of center these days. Very few liberals left amongst the racist and communist left.

More businesses moved here too because of desirable weather and southerners started voting on economics. Less farming more big business.

This whole idea that democrats just switched to republican and republican switched to democrats in the middle of the night during the civil rights is complete fabricated bullshite.

Why didn't Bill Clinton ever renouce Fulbright?

When was Connally ever a "racist"? He was JFK's boy.

Was JFK part of the pre switch? Were his supporters all "racist"? You just said one was.

You don’t need an account to lurk. I used to be libertarian and now I am far right. Not in the anti government sense. In the real, traditional sense.

The democrats at their beginning were the party of Limited govt. Thomas Jefferson. Andrew Jackson. Grover Cleveland was the most libertarian president ever and he was a democrat.

The democrats were pro free trade and the republicans were pro tariff. That was Lincoln’s main issue. That is a big part of what the civil war was about.

I named 3 people because you did.

The party switch didn’t happen in 1 year, it was a slow process. It started with FDR and ended with the civil rights act. I guess it really ended in the 80s with Reagan because you still had local conservative democrats in the south up until then
