I don't understand it. Why do these liberal/democrat supporters want to give more of their hard-earned money back to the gov't?

They support anything the left says to support. If you're out of line, you're swiftly dealt with. Taxes are wholesome compared to some of their group-think.

because they all work for the government and they just raise their salaries to offset the cost of higher taxes.

They all live in blue states where they get to deduct their states taxes from their federal so it evens out for them. Then they whine that they are somehow the ones subsidizing the red states. Math isn't their strong suit.

Either they don't make enough money to really pay any taxes, or they make tons of money and the virtue signaling buys them status in their social circles.

Goes to a basic trust in government by the left. Talking about the federal level.

In part, because they have absolute and unwavering faith in the government to deliver good things to the people.

It's somewhat mindboggling.

Because many of them aren't the ones paying the higher taxes that they support.

This is why listening to the bitch about the SALT limits in the tax cuts gives me such joy. NOW they will feel the real sting of their state's dumbass policies and uncontrolled spending.

Because with most of them it isn't their money but mine and yours.

This is the equivalent of saying “why do Republicans hate poor people.” They don’t. They hate taxes and government programs.

Democrats don’t love taxes. They’re just willing to pay them for the programs that they fund.

Learn the distinction. It’s not hard.

The Trump tax cuts actually changed this. Now they can really support the red states instead of faking it...ha ha.

Our education is terrible and we can't think for ourselves. We hear war on drugs and think it is a good thing, we don't look at the innocent people in jail and the families ruined by burning a harmless plant. We here war on poverty and think it's good without realizing that raising taxes to fight war on poverty creates more poverty, takes jobs away and creates inflation

There is a lot of mental gymnastics in that sentence.

You mean they don't mind other people paying higher taxes to fund programs for democratic voters.

When I’ve asked liberal friends, they give an answer of moral superiority - “I don’t mind giving up more of MY money to help others.”

Needless to say, when taxes are lower none of these self-righteous individuals donate the excess money...
