He's president. We should be concerned with both.

I'm not dodging anything. I'm not the one excusing the actions of the current President by bringing up a former President as if that is the standard that should be met. Obama was terrible. We all know that.

You're confused.

Excusing actions of someone was not what I was pointing out. It was the inconsistency of judgement based on political views. You belched out a recited, rote learned, response....i.e. Pavlovian. That said, you may be right. One has to be aware of something in order to "dodge" it. You simple lacked the awareness.

Where do you draw the line between a comment that "affects no one" and words that actually count?

I think we can both agree that the media shapes the dialogue and the political direction of the country. And the media is really just a collection of comments. CNN cannot pass legislation. It can only comment on legislation.

You'd think Trump might have better things to do.

That is exactly what the "but Obama" replies are doing

But, get back to me when he starts using the government against his political opponents,

Firing Comey for investigating him was a bigger abuse of office than anything Obama ever did.

Wait, I thought words don't affect anything...

But, in any case, he did accuse officer Betty Shelby, whom has since been acquitted, of getting scared and choking when she shot a man reaching into his car.

But then, you've already made it pretty clear that while Obama's words matter, Trump's don't.

But he also has illegal immigration down just with rhetoric alone.

So rhetoric alone can decrease illegal immigration, but this particular comment is just a dumb comment that means nothing?

You can't cherry pick like that. Words count. This comment counts. Every outlandish thing he says makes it harder for Republicans to associate with him. He's digging himself in a hole. That's why his advisors have repeatedly told him to stop doing this shite.

Can't answer for SR, but they affect me by their fake news and propaganda shtick is helping breed a generation of gullible voters and useful idiots. This should concern more people imo.

So CNN affects you but the leader of the free world's words don't affect you?

There are several reasons why his approval is 38% right now. Stuff like this will only push it lower. Sad!

They push policy that affects me. When they do, I comment upon it.

If someone on CNN says my favorite politicians or political thinkers are unattractive people, I might consider that informative about their bias. But, I don't care about their opinion of people's looks.

Meh.

I grew up with Sticks and Stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you.

Mean words are literally irrelevant to me on their own.

You miss the point. It's not Obama I was commenting on, it was the inconsistency of the posters evaluation of behavior. Obama just happens to be the most recent example to use as a comparison. Should I have mentioned Carted or someone else??

Well I consider the President's comment informative about the kind of leader that he is. Good leaders don't get petty on Twitter. They lead by example. This isn't a partisan thing.
