Because that's the easiest way to create visible "teams," and keep people divided.

I'd take it further. I've always told this story about my old neighborhood in Salt Lake. Was probably 20-25% Mormon given Salt Lake, so not super heavy. 2017. Super friendly neighborhood. Got together for events in general. No political signs out. Flags out at 4th of July, Veterans and Memorial Day. People were friendly, open, etc. Just a nice upper middle class neighborhood in Salt Lake. Almost no election signs, people kept that stuff private.



Then the California Democrats moved in with their signs. Pride flags. "Love is Love" "In this house we believe," The Star Wars woman one. BLM, etc. This was right in the Middle of COVID. Peace. Only like 3 families. They started doing Pride events and like that - to fit in, everything went weird. Suddenly Pride signs and flags during pride month. More people with BLM signs, even after the riots. Less friendliness. Less neighborhood get togethers. More division. The Democrat would go house to house for causes and if you were that guy - that was me - you were an outcast real fast. "Do you support this progressive candidate," no. DO you support BLM? No. Can we put this Pride flag in your yard - actually they didn't ask for this one, they just walked around putting Pride flags in people's yards. ALL holidays replaced with pride-friendly events. Then every election season we went from virtually NO election signs to 30-50% of houses having election signs. It was crazy strange how fast you had to join a team.


And I know a lot of people in that neighborhood participated to be "neighborly" and not for any other reason. But it became divisive real quick. A few of us noticed the change and talked about it openly. I kept my yard clear, and started leaving my American flag out basically all year long.

Just nuts. When I say the Democrats are the party of division, I watched it happen real time. It was a disease reshaping a neighborhood piece by piece.
