Why do Democrats seem to suck at government? All the areas they control look like footage from the Walking Dead.
Because they see government as a tool to balance racial angst, poverty, sickness, etc. As such, they have trouble comprehending that government is antithetical to liberty (the more you have of one, the less -by definition- you have of the other). So when government programs fail? Their vision allows them to see only that they just need to double-down on the program. If they make adjustments, it's due to their softening their views on the recipients (because another aspect of their belief is that everyone is the same, thus (to them) the reason people aren't benefiting from some program like they should (which means: like they believe they themselves would benefit) must mean that the program's problem is that it's too onerous or asks too much.
They refuse to see the lessons of Universe 25, thus they just keep making things worse by providing more.

The answer to your title question may be contained in a poll I heard about on America's 1st news radio last week. It was about Trump leading Desantis among GOP voters and Biden leading everyone amoung Dem voters.
Then they asked both party voters some questions about Trump v. Biden.
The biggest edge that Trump had over Biden was 'Who has the best judgment' and the edge for Biden over Trump was 'Who cares the most about people.'
Maybe people in cities value 'caring' more than 'judgment' when they elect leaders. That's a recipe for disaster.

For those who haven't recognized it yet, the physical "slump/zombie" mannerisms of over half the people in that video, is the result of fentanyl being available from coast to coast to literally anyone.
Where does that fentanyl come from? China, sent by the CCP. Where is it cut/refined? Mexico, by the cartels. Where does it enter America? Through the porous southern border in shipments and carried by illegal immigrants who are ushered into America by the cartels.
Tell me again how Democrats care for their constituents or anyone else, when this homelessness and deadly drug epidemic is present in every single major Democrat stronghold city, yet these Democrats in leadership refuse to provide assistance in securing the border, and refuse to even mention China. Period.
