re: Why didn't the Hard Rock building collapse like WTC building 7?

I know this thread is going no where but just let it be known that there are a lot of respected people that still have a lot of open questions about 911. LINK

By the way. Why would someone who wanted to intentionally take the building down even care about rigging the charges to create a perfect collapse?
The key to logic is to ask "if X is true, what else must be true"
Your theories fail that test miserably

Everyone knows the circumstances around 9/11 are questionable. Many are just too scared of being called a conspiracy theorist to admit it. You have people here that don't believe anything the government tells them but lap up the BS they've been told about 9/11.

It's the absolute textbook psychological profile of conspiracy theorists

I've zero doubt the government hasn't been fully candid
But. Just like proving racism exists doesn't mean all accusations of racism are true....... Knowing government can lie doesn't mean all absurd bull shite accusations of lying are true

You're dead on here, Rob.
(not that my saying so will help your case with the Gumboman).
We can all choose to find "common sense" reasons to be skeptical of conclusions arrived at by technical experts when we don't personally have expertise ourselves.
That's why I've decided to give up going to my dentist and have started caring for my teeth based on the regimen of an online guy with some great memes named TOOTHTRUTHER.

1. Ignition source
Ignited by extreme heat from the burning and collapse of 220 stories of office being conveyed through a basement that acted as a chimney, causing the office building on top to start small fires in things like carpets, desks, papers that eventually roared

2. Oxygen
Basements don't have ample oxygen supplies? This is a basement tunnel connecting these buildings and the subway. There's an underground mall at these same basement levels now.

3. Fuel
I think there was plenty of that on that day.

Because that's the way building are rigged to make them collapse.

I'm not even to the point of asking this question yet. I just want to understand the official explanation. When I read the NIST report (several years ago) it made no sense.

That's all I'm saying, that we certainly don't know the truth. Nothing more, nothing less. The missing $ and records that just so happened to be in the wing of the Pentagon that was hit is the most suspicious part of it to me.

All I know is if I wanted to bring a building down in a symmetrical fashion like a controlled demolition using thhermite to cut structural members is a good choice especially if you want to hide forensic evident. Ferric oxide and aluminum oxide are well hidden among normal building materials.
Joke?

Yeah. When the people who do the demolition WANT to avoid excess damage
That would be a weird motivation here if on purpose.
quote:no. You clearly do not want to understand it.
I just want to understand the official explanation.
Moreover. You confuse your lack of ABILITY to understand it with being a measure of the quality of the explanation.

But again. You've already admitted that you don't possess the requisite knowledge to understand it in the first place
I don't understand explanations of failed brain surgery either. That doesn't mean my lack of understanding means the doctor wanted to kill the dude

You are doubting that buildings are built form steel and aluminum building materials?

Honestly I don't remember. I'll have to go back and reread the report.

The principal conclusion of our study is that fire did not cause the collapse of WTC 7 on
9/11, contrary to the conclusions of NIST and private engineering firms that studied the collapse.
The secondary conclusion of our study is that the collapse of WTC 7 was a global failure
involving the near-simultaneous failure of every column in the building.

I am trying to understand what you are trying to say here. Are you saying that you're questioning everything about WTC 7's collapse because of something you don't remember understanding several years ago?

At the time of 911, the tallest building to ever be brought down by controlled demo was 30 stories and it took a 12 man crew 24 days to rig it. The walls have to be stripped down to the structural members, with miles of detonation cord running all over the place.
Also, controlled demolitions are from the bottom up, not the top down, sooo...
