SCOTUS was meant to grow with the country.

I think the failure here was not tying it to anything specific like population or judicial districts

I'll play...

Because there weren't enough lawyers and judges to pack a pub on a Saturday night? Much less a tennis court....drop the word tennis...

The lack of term limits is one of the biggest omissions in the Constitution. It was included in the Articles of Confederation, but not included in the Constitution.

Because SCOTUS was never intended to have the power that John Marshall coopted for it.

Because there is at least a valid argument to be made that nine justices is not enough for the current population
Disagree. You're inviting multi-culturalism and a splintered nation. Laws would get watered down. We're all in the same boat. We're Americans first. Tweak the process if you must, but solidify the number of judges.

I do not see why an increase in population requires more judges or a change in the process. Laws are laws, irrespective of the population.

Why? How does the number of inhabitants affect laws that are grounded in morals? If we reach a certain number, does it mean free sex, drugs, and booze?

Then I would ask you why not just have a single justice?

You'd have to ask the Framers and the 1st Congress. A bit of an over-consolidation of power, wouldn't you think? That would make a branch of government equivalent to a dictatorship. Must I remind you we're a Democracy....

The Framers would have never believed we would still be here using their constitution. They were pretty confident that a revolution would have happened by now

Lol. Press has always been biased. They knew this. Look up Alien and Sedition Act.

There’s a lot of rules they didn’t specifically write because they were wise enough to know that they didn’t know everything. They gave us a solid framework and an amendment process.
