I have to admit, my shame for my defense of John Bolton is second only to my shame in having campaigned for Mitt Romney, I ask again for your forgiveness, I have been an insolent man.

That said, many a poli board poster, obviously wiser than I, have asked, why in tf would Trump hire this loser?

Trump explains....

quote:

The only thing I liked about Bolton was that everybody thought he was crazy. And frankly, when you walk into the room with him, you’re in a good negotiating position. Because they figure you’re going to war if John Bolton was there. He wanted to go to war with everybody. He never saw a war he didn’t like.

That's pretty fricking good, Art of the Deal Bitches...

"Hey, do ya'll wanna work this shite out or should I just go with plan-Bolton?"

But at the end of the day, who's calling the shots?

quote:

“But no, I disagreed with much of the stuff he said. He was one of many people. I liked listening to many people, and then doing whatever is the right thing to do.”

Bolton never should have been allowed to step foot in the White House again after his disastrous tenure with Bush. Let alone be one of the President’s most powerful advisors.

It's not just Bolton. There have been a number of ill fated hires. I think Trump honestly believes that everyone loves him. It shouldn't surprise anyone, he's been surrounded by arse kissing yes people his entire life, pumping his ego. It's a hard lesson to learn, but DC is full of backstabbing Jackals.

Rand Paul is a fricking good judge of character.

quote:

Sen. Rand Paul, a newly reelected member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said this morning that he is inclined to oppose former U.N. ambassador John Bolton or former New York City mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani if either is nominated for secretary of state.
“It’s important that someone who was an unrepentant advocate for the Iraq War, who didn’t learn the lessons of the Iraq War, shouldn’t be the secretary of state for a president who says Iraq was a big lesson,” Paul said in an interview Tuesday morning

Maybe so but I think he also felt naively, especially in the beginning, that the people he picked should do what’s best for the country. In reality they did what best for their egos and special interests

Don't forget to tip CNN/MSDNC/FOX/CBS/ABC/NBC "researchers" on your way out. Trump intentionally enlisted some of these bad actors to track how they leak, who they leak to, and where they run to after he fires them. Things that make you go hmmm.

Or whats best for Trump. I don't have a problem with that, but loyalty is such a cheap suit these days. See Vindman.

I opposed the Bolton hire when it was rumored Trump wanted to bring him in and voted third party in 2012 because I did not believe that Romney was a conservative.

Man it feels so fricking good not having those two shite stains on my conscience.

Trump has a really bad habit of letting people flatter the hell out of him into hiring them and/or backing policy positions that is absolutely destructive to the MAGA platform.

Just because someone is saying nice things about you on FOX does not mean he should have a job in your administration.

As a someone who voted for Trump, never voted for a democrat in my life, i unfortunately feel the way for defending trump.

I know i will get slammed here and that's fine but I dont think ever in the history of the politics have this many internal party members turned against a sitting President. I know, I know, deep state, "elites", blah blah blah. at some point you have to realize what's staring you in the face.

I fear for us conservatives. we need to really evaluate how we can overcome this media bias

The result of hiring him is another quagmire of a shampeachment.

Screw this crazy swamp. What happened to draining the swamp? You don't go hiring the swamp, to drain the swamp, dammit.

IMHO, it's too late. The Left are in total control of mass media, pop culture, social media and academia. All of those were lost without a fight.
