re: Why can’t Trump just stick to talking policy?

But I do get you on the whole mean tweet narrative. It's hard to see the underlying current when most people want to debate on the daily grind of "who stepped in poop" and "who did not". Don't let the "mean tweets" narrative distract you. Follow the real politics and try not to debate too much with us deplorables of "not talking policy". That's a batman signal for those wanting to slap "mean tweets" in your face.

You COMPLETELY missed the OPs point. He’s NOT getting ANY word out. Third grade insults aren’t policy, and won’t earn one new vote.

Not yet. He’s got to get a few more scrubs to officially drop out before shooting his load on Biden

And you are just wrong. Trump talks policy consistently, but you never hear it because you can’t get past his other statements.
This thread is the epitome of irony. Desantis fans complain that Trump supporters lap up his insults. Meanwhile, it’s actually they who focus only on the insults and never listen to his policy statements. Meanwhile, Trump supporters are happy with his policy, know it well, and are behind it.

The Dems go FULL On’ banana republic’ and Trump should “stick to policy”. The Border is wide open to lethal Terrorists Cells and the brainwashed Dem Base thinks it’s serving ‘diversity’. Trump is and should be a reflection of this Board. Scream the truth and rub it in their faces. Albeit nothing but blood will awaken people from their delusion. We’re almost there. Just wait till you see the next *Trump*. He’ll make this one look like Mister Rogers. Lord have mercy.

Talking policy doesn't work. That's what neocons don't understandand why they're now obsolete. Even Desantis with all his policy cred got popular for his ability to entertain with slap downs om the media.

Calling for a Nations College! isn’t policy, it’s lunacy.

Trump doesnt understand policy. He throws out ideas with little detail on how they possibly could work.

The best part were those in Cult45 pretending to be conservatives while defending a proposed big government program.
Yeah, let's solve big government problems with more government.

He’s trying to get these fricking scrubs to drop out because the faster he gets them out of the way, the faster he can start unleashing his wrath on the current administration.
Should be his number one priority.

Calling for a Nations College! Is this his new version of Trump University?

But he keeps up with the childish social media stuff and loyalty litmus tests.
Why on Earth can he not stick to the messaging that “still available” voters will buy into?
Because he is a CLOWN.

And he can't do that now with a 50 point lead in the polls?

According to this board he has a 50 point lead. Hes also avoiding debates, so this reason isnt the case
Donny is an idea guy with few details how to accomplish things. Not unusual for a CEO, however he cannot hire good people to save his life.

Because THEY won't let him.
Trump was under attack the DAY he announced his candidacy and was being threatened with Impeachment before he even took the oath of office.
He has been on the defense ever since then.

According to MAGA, hes got the nomination wrapped up.
Why continue fighting people who have no chance?

He's playing scorched earth tactics. He wants to make sure if he doesn't win, no one does. Loves the country so much he's willing to burn it down to soothe his ego.

Not "sticking to the message" is the most Trump-like thing he does. If he would have been able to stay on script, he would have won in 2020.

FIFY.
ETA: He can talk policy all day long, but if he can't shut up with the childish crap, there is no way that is the lede.
"Trump Proposes Mideast Peace Summit" or "Trump Calls A Candidate Names"
Which one is going to be the story that day?

Thats great if all you want to attract is the working man, but if you want more than that, you have to step up the game.
