I saw some tweets earlier today that said some scientists studying the virus structure have found parts of the HIV virus in it which seems crazy.
STFU and quit posting that shite...you make this kind of thing 1000X worse spreading that unconfirmed bs.

It's not a huge problem in the United States and I'm not going to run around in paranoia being scared of this thing. Yes it's an awful thing happening but I'm not going to live my life like it's a post apocalyptic type world.

This ain't the flu. I'm surprised more people aren't freaking out about it. It's scary shite.
my wife met a lady yesterday who sent predictions to the CDC a couple of weeks ago, they gave her a call this week "how did you know these cities would be hit the hardest?" Told my wife that the government, our government is hiding a lot of cases from us, so we won't freak...lady told my wife, it's lot worse than we're being led on...cases in Downtown Raleigh not being publicized
Just read something that suggested the Virus is engineered by the Chinese...AIDS/HIV stands found in it? Can anyone confirm?
a lot of scary suggestions

This didn't happen

I could see the speed that this thing was moving a week ago and I put a few shorts on the market that are doing pretty well. I'm not worried yet about it spreading all over this country yet but it's been seeded all over the world and there's no way it doesn't get a lot worse.
Just make sure you don't touch your face until you wash your hands after being in public anywhere until this thing is behind us.

There are something like 2-300 deaths from the disease with 11,000 cases reported. That’s a mortality rate of less than 1%

It’s also mortalities in 3rd world shitholes.
CDC seems pretty confident it won’t be an issue here.

If 60,000,000 Americans contract this Wuhan virus (comparable to how many get influenza in a given year) you are talking about MILLIONS of deaths.
Current mortality rate is 2.2%. 60,000,000 Americans contract it - 1,200,000 deaths, so not millions. Just a mil.

1.8% - 2.7%
Still relatively low.

I'm freaked out. Freaked out that the ripple effect will continue to frick with the market, thereby fricking with my retirement.

For the same reason I didn't freak out when Ebola, bird flu, and SARS ravaged foreign countries. The same reason I didn't freak out during the H1N1 scare or the annual flu overreactions. The chance it will affect me personally is so insignificant that it isn't worth worrying about. I don't worry about cancer, getting hit by a bus, or slipping in the shower either. Stress is a killer. You gotta learn to go with the flow.
I'm neither young nor old, so my chance of fighting off a disease is pretty decent. Let me know when something with a high mortality rate will infect at least 25% of the country.

Stopping flights to hot zones interferes with the two most powerful forces in our society today: greed and political correctness.
