China is a country hell bent on world domination and blocks access to ownership and tariffs heavily but expects others to throw their legs up.

And there's a real danger that this trade war may push the EU (the largest economy in the world) into vastly increasing their trade with China.

Those who worry about national security should really be concerned about that. It's bad if we depend on China to supply vital products to the US, I agree.

But it's even worse if 3/4 of the rest of the developed world starts relying on China to provide critical products to them.

That leverage is just as bad if not worse.

EDIT: Hadn't see the EU announcement of zero for zero when I wrote this.

So, basically, all of the old folks who worked hard their entire lives, all of the veterans, all of the people who were told to use a 401k for their retirement.....just frick'em. That is your position.

That's a mighty fine strawman you have there.

If today wasn't the day someone was supposed to sit down with their financial advisor to discuss cashing in their retirement accounts, it does no good to freak.

Even in that case, just chill for a few more months.

We're detoxing from a poison financial system. There will be fits pitched by the globalist/central banking cartel.

The task you're currently failing to accomplish is to avoid being an easily-led low information simp who believes everything MSNBC or any other talking head tells you about OMB.

EU dependent on China is quite possible with their current leadership, but the fact that they are globalist minded while China is far far from that unless you count about them wanting to rule the world. Their security would collapse ( more than now if even possible) with China puppetry. But hey you almost had a lucid imagination

Abused? No I think I just referred to them living above the garage wanting us to provide safety nets all the while expecting us to finance them. For years I had my drivers pu goods in Geismer and transport into Canada in spring and summer. The drivers would catch hell from everyone in the eastern provinces and were treated great in the western ones. The product was weed killer and was completely trade free entering the country because they needed it. A dairy buddy of mine also had a farm in Wisconsin outside Sheboygan and another in Canada. He was always frustrated on the differences of sales in Canada vs America for exactly the same goods. Canada is the size of California with a wannabe attitude. That said the are a decent neighbor but leadership issues much like most of the world.

The tariffs aren’t reciprocal. For example Japan had 4.5% tariffs on us and we respond with 25%+ on them.

Seems like agreeing with Japan to no tariffs would be a good idea.

When you retire, you going to live off SS? Apparently so.

When you have a simple mind and can only see things in black and white you think Social security and the market are the only places to have retirement assets.

Alaska's Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is a program that provides annual cash payments to all Alaska residents, essentially functioning as a form of universal basic income.

Did any of that figure into the Trump administration's tariff calculation? No. No, it did not.

I think it did, but I’m only basing that off the graphic posted from the press release listing each country, there was some sort of footnote “includes currency manipulation and other costs” something to that extent. No clue what is included or accurate, just saying it was an adjusted figure.
