Because they are against oppression. So it doesn't matter to them if the people they are fighting for don't believe they deserve basic human rights.

I think it’s spiritual identification. Darkness recognizes darkness, and hates the light, and not necessarily because the state of Israel always does what’s right, but Israel is the homeland of God’s chosen people, the Jewish people, and that is what is Light, and that which opposes it is spiritual darkness.
It is the same reasoning behind everything liberalism embraces today. That which stands opposed to God and God’s Will for mankind is what they celebrate. Sexual perversions, hatred for traditional marriage and traditional roles, murdering children, murdering Jews, polluting children’s hearts, minds, and souls with filth, standing opposed to scripture or choosing to reinvent it so that it justifies their positions rather than conforming to it, etc. Just look at the platforms of the democrat party and it’s pretty clear that it is the spiritually dark party.
