While I understand the thinking, I believe if Trump can squeeze the IRGC into regime change (as in the Iranian people get rid of the IRGC..) the strategic implications of a different leadership that if not friendly is at least benign towards the west would be very far reaching in the world at large for the next generation.

That is true. Results do matter. I would take that into account if he were able to pull off a full regime change etc. But, I would just posit that Iran trying to prosper isn't of any immediate concern of ours. It is much more a concern of their neighbors. I think my problem isn't necessarily all of his actions (or directions he has been given to complete) aren't all bad. I do think the term "genocide" is both right, and a bit disingenuous. The number of innocents dying with total disregard is worse than repugnant... but war is hell, and unfortunately this is not the first time the world has made innocents suffer. There is no greater good when we take those kinds of measures... we are simply the hand with the power. There is never any excuse for murdering so many innocent people. Period.

That is my fear in midterms. I get not liking the candidate representing your party, but you have to consider the alternative. It's like, yeah, I get that you don't like high gas prices but that's better than not having a car because they all got banned (just my poor example, not saying cars would ever be banned). Point being, it would be far worse not voting or voting Communist.
