There was a black one on here moaning about how they can’t celebrate July 4th because 250 years ago ancestors (that they don’t know for sure were even here) were slaves. If you’ll gnaw on a misery bone for stuff that not only didn’t happen to you, it didn’t happen to anybody you’ve ever known, staying miserable would be pretty easy.

First, most people, regardless of politics, are miserable.
Second, many lefties are joyful people. What leads to the perception that they are miserable, besides #1 above, is that they can’t laugh at politics, unless it’s laughing at the opposition. Obama saying “Corpsman” as it is spelled, over and over again amused them not in the least, whereas the average conservative can laugh at Bush saying “nucular” (BTW, many don’t know that Jimmy Carter, who had a degree in Nuclear Engineering, also said “nucular”.

“Politics is replacing religion in terms of giving people meaning in life”.

My theory is that being miserable is a prerequisite to leftists political philosophy. They believe they have no power to solve their own problems. And basically that nobody has the power to solve his own problems. The lack of human agency makes them miserable. And misery loves it some company. So they want everyone else to be as miserable as they are. After all, they’re only miserable bc someone else is happy. And they’re only broke Bc someone else has means.
Leftists will never, ever accomplish shite besides making other people live in the miserable world they are desperate to create.
I can't even imagine the delusion and mental gymnastics required to hold this opinion about an entire group of people

What mental gymnastics? If you think somebody else is the solution to your problems, or that you are responsible to fix someone else's problems - you have a recipe for misery. Happiness is within.
The entire leftist ideology is ate up with envy. There's no focus on individual responsibility, or individual choice, or gratitude for one's own's blessings or talents. None.
I have never once in my entire life known a leftist who is actually happy. The entire ideology is based on blaming someone else for the plight you're in.

I gottta tell you there’s no greater example of conservative joy than this board. It’s a good counterpoint to the miserable, liberal complaining.

I am thoroughly convinced on this following point regarding their misery: One of the of the tip top reasons they despise Trump so very much is his seemingly unmatched level of self-confidence and, yes, cockiness. All of which I believe are at the core of his unique greatness. They absolutely loathe the fact that he is so self-confident, and spry, despite their throwing everything at him including the kitchen sink. He just bounces right off the mat and strikes right back even harder. It's a bit like the frustration experienced by Ivan Drago in Rocky IV:
What it ultimately results in is a vicious level of jealousy on their part wherein they'd rather bring the whole place down than to concede that he lives permanently in their heads, rent free. And he clearly enjoys it and they know that.

Right?
The irony is so rich that I can't even believe it sometimes.
I mean, Jesus, just look at the post above yours. It's too twisted to even respond to.

Very insightful.
Everything is the fault of greedy old people, and the only solutions can come from a distant, all-powerful government controlled by the enlightened. The liberal has no personal accountability, and therefore no power to affect change in their own lives other than by trying to bring everyone else down to their miserable level.

Here is the true problem. Dems preach victimhood...with victimhood comes the ability to blame all your failings on someone else.
I'm where I am now, not because of the choices I made, but because of "fill in the blank".
It's really not rocket science to see this at this point in time.
