Liberals tend to be more sensitive; Conservatives more stoic.

Conservatives abide; Liberals moan.

But when the shite hits the fan -say our country is threatened, it's the Conservatives who will fight to save the day while the Liberals will hide behind their slogans.

Just a broad, sweeping generalization, mind you...

When you are unable to articulate a compelling argument for your side, the best option is to gather in force and physically intimidate your opponent into seeing things your way.

They don't have real jobs.

They don't understand responsibility

They get their jollies from making asses of themselves.

It's a fun way to spend a day when you ought to be doing something worthwhile.

They hate order, standards, tradition, equality, science, and anything else which may not agree with their preconceived biases.

Just a guess but:

I think there are large numbers on the left that think protests are good in and of themselves. If you protest, you have done good, regardless of the outcome.

I see it as party of the mythology of the 60s protests. Those protesters are heroes to part of the left. So they emulate them and feel good when they follow in their footsteps. Thus the rise of a sort of permanent leftist protest faction.

Where as on the right, there is no romantization of protests. They are one form of influencing government.

Now this is generalizing a little as plenty on the left protest for specific policy objectives (stopping repeal of obamacare) and there are those on the right who just like to protest because they have to "fight the good fight" regardless of outcome. But overall, I think this is the core of it.

I agree with this sweeping generalization. Historically, I don't recall conservatives really ever protesting.

They are probably more likely to be young people or faculty from left-leaning universities who are financed by parents and the government so they haven't learned to be adults yet. They are being stirred up and organized by well-funded groups who are just using them to advance their own agenda.

Some of these kids will change their liberal minds when they graduate and are exposed to real life. That's the way it's always been.

The old adage "If you aren’t a liberal when you’re young, you have no heart, but if you aren’t a middle-aged conservative, you have no head" applies.

Today's liberal protestors are just so much more destructive, ridiculous in their demands, and intolerant than those of the past. They are raised with less personal responsibilities, constant digital influence, and poorer home training than the older generations were.

I'm technically a millenial but my parents raised us right. I actually feel sorry for these idiots because they will always struggle to be satisfied with life.

No, I proved that conservatives are guilty of the same bitching that they claim only liberals are guilty of.

Nowhere near the scale of current protests by liberals.

Don't even try to say they are.

The Ivanka spike in profits is definitely a protest for one. You are foolish to say it is not.

The latest election is another.

A protest is not always running amuck and being violent. A protest is not liking something and voicing or acting on the result.

Not the same. You know exactly what the OP meant by protests.

You're just trying to muddy the water.

They have more free time and fewer good arguments.

Ok, you've made a quasi-point to your argument but then I'll ask you this question- if you think the protests of Obama were as rampant as the protests of Trump, then why did we not see practically 24 hour coverage of the Obama protests as we have seen of the Trump protests? What's the reasoning for that?

I'm interested in hearing the answer to this double edged sword you just challenged him with.
