My former outfit was comprised of guys from every SOF unit from every branch, from vanilla to the tippy top.
The vanilla Team guys were usually in the bottom third at hard skills, particularly shooting and housework. A little better with SUT, etc.
Very poor planners. The same mentality that makes them tough/absolute animals makes them prone to errors in judgment, especially when it comes to risk. They also were generally not the guys sent to do much of anything low viz/low signature.
Tough and fit? Sure, but everyone was. In general, they were extremely useful for a limited/specific mission set.
Being a former Navy SEAL commands a certain baseline level of respect, for sure. They've earned that, no question about it. Beyond that baseline is highly individual and not one fricking bit automatic.
So back to my original comment since you're a fricking nitwit...Not insignificant, but far less significant that you and others seem to think.
