All this LAPD officer can do is say "back up" in a stern way. You can tell he knows he's fricked if he actually does anything to prevent these people from shutting down traffic.

Let's see....you can't engage so you sit in your patrol car, eat donuts and play with your IPhone AND get paid.

No I wouldn't want to be LE in any city tho.

Until those insects see your car and decide to do some damage.

I thought about joining the police force out of the military about 20 years ago now (holy shite ) but quickly said frick that.

Truth is that the law has been corrupted for a long time now.

I respectfully disagree.
Saddle up with PPE and body armor; fire up the helicopters, drones, & cameras; and deploy SWAT and the National Guard.
Put out that cigarette before it becomes a forest fire.
And if one of those malcontents decides to make a poor decision ... act.

And catch shite for doing your job while also catching shite for not doing your job while also catching shite for not doing things which aren't your job.

Hard pass.

It’s not just Cops. The anti-law enforcement movement has had a devastating impact on police, corrections, probation and parole, EMS, even utility and public works folks. It’s had a devastating impact on the occupations that keep our society quietly operating relatively smoothly.

I’m a P&P officer of more than 30 years. We can’t keep new officers to save our life anymore. None of them stay more than about three years. Once the honeymoon period ends, they say screw this and resign. Most don’t even have new jobs secured. We had two officers quit last month just like that.

I have a close friend that is in one of the roughest districts of a very big city. He seems to love it so far, and I don't have the guts to ask what he thinks of all the new rules. He's been on about five years. We went for a drive through his district in my car once, he seemed to know a lot of guys, it was very interesting seeing him in his other neighborhood.

Someone who has zero intention of actually doing the job of policing. I would do it and sit in my car dicking off all day. I would drive a few blocks away if I saw a crime in progress and pretend I was busy helping a kid get a cat out of a tree. Repeat process until I get caught and put on paid leave. Then repeat again and again till they fire me.

I'm not saying this is how it should be done or how I would do it in a state that would support me but if they want to throw cops under the bus at the first opportunity they are going to reap what they sow.
