These two for certain. They were called and warned dozens of times about this guy and never arrested him despite him having broke the law well over a dozen times before this happened (making threats, torturing animals, domestic violence, assault, etc).
Had they done their jobs and arrested him:
1. he likely would have been in jail and wouldn't have been able to kill anyone
2. even if he wasn't in jail, he would not have passed the background check

A poster shared an article a few days ago about Florida’s initiative to not have police arrest students and to keep their behavioral issues away from the police as to not taint their file and therefore their future. It was an interesting read and I think that initiative kept th shooter from being adequately on the radar of the police.

The humans who now blame an inanimate object instead of being accountable and owning their share of the responsibility for this outcome.
The humans in the media who have zero integrity or consistency in applying principles.

It would have been great if the so-called authorities had done something. If there was ever a clear-cut case where prevention could have happened this is it.
The bottom line is that no one KNOWS what is going on inside someone else's head. Certain people are only one or two stressful events away from engaging in violent behavior of one sort or another. There is truly no way to consistently predict when something like this will happen.
