Buzz Williams also gave the Texas A&M Hoops team the opportunity to participate in the same action (with Samaritan’s Feet International) in Costa Rica recently.

Just wanted to point out that it isn’t unheard of by any means.

The millennials fell for the white guilt that was taught in public school by commie teachers. All these white assholes promotingBLM will be the first ones shot when the lead starts flying. The BLM used them like a tampon. They betrayed their parents, grand parents for sure and their race. Turn them into worm food. Good riddents.

FYI I’m Methodist.
I’ve grown up with the tradition.

Looks like we got more masochism around here than we were aware of.

This is an expression of service to others and part of long-standing Christian tradition. One can have plenty of self respect and engage in this practice. Here is the brief wiki description with chapter and verse:

John 13:1–17 recounts Jesus' performance of this act. In verses 13:14–17, He instructs His disciples: If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

I’m baptist. I’ve never done it but my folks use to do it three or four times a year.

That’s interesting. I wonder which holy days, other than Maundy Thursday?
quote:

Maundy Thursday is the Christian holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles, as described in the canonical gospels. It is the fifth day of Holy Week, preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday.

It’s a sign of humility. We all know that.

What we’re seeing in his video is another desperate slobbering show of white guilt.

Next communion?

No. Next is voting Democrat. They know they are handing over the country to a group who will destroy what has been built here but it will help wipe their guilt away.

Do you really think that’s how BLM or whomever the protesters are with are viewing it? This is humiliation, white guilt, fear, panic, like the police chief laying face down for 9 minutes, or the woman kneeling before the black man begging for forgiveness after he tells her to. It’s what trick can we get white people to do next.

I respect you EKG. I really do. I enjoy reading your comments/posts. I'm also an right wing atheist who seldom ever bitches about christianity/religion. However, I'm gonna have to throw you a big fat frick that on this practice. Why in god's name would anyone want to wash the feet of another person in the 21st century?

Reminds me of life lessons I learned in a 1970's high school football locker room at the height of "Re-integrating" public schools here on the North Shore. Hairy times, if you'll pardon the pun. Hated, real bad, some of the black guys there. Some of whom "became" really good friends of mine.

Thanks for the kind words, The Dudes Car .

I 100% understand your sentiment.
It’s definitely not a practice in which someone should ever be pressured into engaging—on either side.

It’s a deeply meaningful action; and if a person doesn’t voluntarily view it for the reason it’s intended, s/he should never take part in it.

For the record, here’s the rationale:
quote:

In the gospel of John, there is a story of Jesus washing each of His disciple’s feet at the Last Supper. John 13:1–17 mentions Jesus performing this act. Specifically, in verses 13:14–17, He instructs them:

14 “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”

When this is over and the dust settles, I really feel there will be a shift from the virtue signaling and white self flogging to anger. This will leave a bitter aftertaste.
