Let’s go back to Lee Circle and Robert E. Lee Boulevard then.
Call them whatever you want. I call NCF Jeff Davis out of habit pretty regularly. I haven’t been banned from entering any government buildings because of it yet, though.

Obama banned Fox News from the white house press pool. For no apparent reason except they were right-leaning and asked pointed questions. Obama set this precedent, not Trump. Even in Trump term 1 he threw out Acosta but not CNN, but courts said that was unconstitutional. So they had to let Acosta back in.
The courts are in shambles.
The courts are in shambles.

So the AP should be using Constantinople and Saigon under your rationale then, correct?
No, they shouldn’t. Both cities were formally renamed by the nations that possess them. Same with several cities in India and Africa.
Trump just decided to start calling an area of water that we don’t own something different. It’s not going to stick.

So was the Gulf of America.

The executive order is binding law and the US does own portions of the Gulf under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act.

We have less EEZ in the GOM than Mexico does. No, it’s not an inland sea. It’s not “ours”
Even if it were, renaming things for no reason is stupid.
And LOL at the EO being binding. It’ll be reversed the moment a Democrat takes the oath of office.

Would rather see NPR banned

Really?

Yes. Mexico has approximately 20,000 square miles more of EEZ in the Gulf than we do. The gulf extends all the way south to the Yucatán channel.
Not sure why a map of the US’s total EEZ, that cuts off the southern portion of the Gulf, is relevant
In any event, it was named the Gulf of Mexico before Mexico was named Mexico. Trying to change the name is pointless.

Mexico is in North America, so the Gulf of America includes them.

Obama set the precedent. You want the republicans to do "the right thing" and turn your head around when democrats do the wrong thing.
