I can't explain all leftist policies, but I have become convinced that this one is for the purpose of replenishing our supply of taxpayers to keep government funded in the wake of precipitously declining birth rates for actual Americans.
I think it's also why so many Republicans won't do anything about it as well (although they talk like they will). They know that if we want Medicare and SS solvent in 25 years, we have to do this or something like it.

I assume this is different from The Church of the Highlands. They only have campuses in Alabama and Georgia (none in LA).
I dont go to that church but my charity does partner with them for disaster assistance. They have large crews that cuts trees, numerous "saw" trailers with skid steers with grapples, that they use to cut trees for people free of charge.
When we were in Madison Florida a few weeks ago they were staying in the church (Madison Church of Christ) we setup at (we have trailers to stay in, they were sleeping inside the church). They had about 110 people in their crews.
I would be very disappointed if they are the ones bringing illegals in.

It goes deeper. ICE will later catch these people and the state will rent state prison cells to ICE to detain them. The federal government pays a higher daily rate to house prisoners than the state does. So DOC inmates get shipped to local jails that don’t get enough funding to provide rehabilitation programming for inmates to make room for ICE detainees. So the prisons will make more money to provide fewer services and the inmates that will ultimately get released back to the general public won’t get any rehabilitation services. It’s a lose-lose for society but prisons make more money.
